Quietest Ball

Hey everyone,

Long time Lurker. Finally got my skytrak setup. I am a young dad, got 2 kids under 3. Only time I can play with my new skytrak is after my kids are asleep. My setup is completely portable. I setup 2 hooks, I hook on a net, then hit almost golf balls into the net. The sound of me hitting my fairway woods in the net is still too loud for my kids that are asleep. I really like the feel of the almost golf ball, I want to use it for shorter irons and wedges. BUT, for hybids and fairway woods I would like to see if I can get a quieter fake golf ball.

Anyone know which pretend golf ball is the quietest when hit with FW and Driver.

We are hoping to move to a house in a year or so, then I can get a setup where I can hit real balls into a projector in a soundproofed room. In the mean time I have to find an alternative solution.

Nothing I know of that is quieter, although it stands to reason that the sound your FW and driver will be dependent on design of that driver. Example. I find that my recent TM drivers have a nice but not incredibly piercing sound when hit. However my brother hits a Cobra F8 and that thing sounds like a tank...

Unfortunately I can't relate as my 2 month old sleeps through just about anything, and my sim is in my Garage.

I had the same issue. It's not the ball against the club that's loud. It's the ball against the screen. I tried everything including almost golf balls, sound proofing materials, new screen, padding behind the screen, rug in the room above where the sim is. Nothing worked until I hung a net in front of the hitting area that is low enough to see over but high enough to catch anything 6i and longer. Boom.

These foam balls are quiet but are shorter than real ones as they absorb much more of the impact. You could use both to ID the delta between them per club.
