Hey Everyone,
What equipment or golf accessories has been missing or needs improvement in your simulator set up that would really improve the user experience? I'm talking anything from launch monitor leveling stands, and golf club racks, to enclosure components, control boards, etc.
I've recently picked up a 3D printer and have been having a lot of fun designing and making things for the sim set up and generally around the home. I'm an engineer by trade and really fascinated by the types of designs that can be made with 3D printing. I'm looking for design inspiration for useful things to make to solve problems we all might have in our home simulator set ups. Any ideas welcome!
I made a golf club rack that I desperately needed for my sim set up after not being able to find anything reasonable to buy. I posted it on the Mevo+ user group as a show and tell and surprisingly a lot of people wanted to buy some for themselves. I got a lot of feedback on things they wanted like different club orientations and ended up making a few new design offerings. I set a goal to make my 3D printer pay for itself (also to prove to the wife that I can as that was my justification for her letting me get it). I've already made that, so I'm not looking to start a business or anything as a small home 3D printer is too slow to be profitable for the time and effort input.
Anything I design I post on Thingiverse.com, a website where you can download other peoples' designs for free and print them yourself, or have someone else print them for you. So if you give me an idea, You'll find it on thingiverse after I've created it for free!
Below are some of the golf related things I've made so far.
