  • Let’s talk about your balls…

So, I have had my Mevo Plus for just over a month. I have no idea how many shots are on this sleeve of RCT balls, but I am starting to see enough wear, that I want to bust out a new sleeve. My fear is that the wear will not only affect performance, but may hold micro pockets of dirt and mar my screen.

These ProV1x RCT balls are quite expensive, and in fact, much more expensive than the balls I normally play when on the course. I am a bogey golfer with a driver ss of 85-90, and I usually like a softer feeling ball. I’ve never been fit, as my swing isn’t very consistent.

    My question is this:
For those of you who do use RCT balls, what do you do with them when you take them out of the rotation?
In the summer I usually play a mid-range Titleist like TruFeel or in prior years the DT or NXT, but I am considering tossing the out-of-rotation RCTs in the bag and playing with them on the course. Even though they aren’t good enough to use in the sim, I tend to think they will still out perform my lower end balls on the course.

    Thoughts?

When I had my TM, I would play my sim balls for my non serious games. I usually play a Prov or Zstar (still trying to decide which is best for me). In any case I took a ball out of the sim once it starts to show a little bit of wear and so still in very good condition.

Also, I usually did not play my RCT all the time and usually played a Prov with a metallic dot when practicing with my irons and wedges.

Not sure if they're any less expensive but if you don't need the compression of Pro V and don't normally use them on the course, you can get RCT AVX balls.

Let's not talk about balls. Let's talk about launch monitors. The time is now for you to upgrade to a launch monitor that is accurate without marked balls so you can use your gamer in sim. The biggest bang for your dollar right now would be to find a deal on a used gc2.

Time to move past the dirty ball talk.

          Nooooooooope!
          Not spending any more dough.
I just bought the Mevo Plus and it is plenty good for who uses it. LOL.
I’d be money ahead at this point to just make my gamer ball the same as the RCT if I was consistent enough to tell the difference.
