  • Cheap Gloves and Balls

I just thought I would share that I had good luck recently ordering MG golf gloves. They are all cabretta leather and seem comparable to ones from Foot-Joy or Titleist, but only cost $6.25 with free shipping on ebay. I have sweaty palms and go through lots of gloves, so shelling out $20 a piece gets old pretty quickly.

I also tried Vice golf balls on a recent trip to Hilton Head and really liked them. The Pro is very similar to the ProV1, and the Pro+ is close to the ProV1x. There are direct comparisons online showing that spin and carry numbers are very close to Titleist, but they are considerably less expensive. They also sell a demo pack where you get a sleeve of each of their balls to try all of them out. Also, they have a pricing model where buying more drops the price per dozen. If you buy 5 dozen, they are $25 a dozen for the most expensive ones. Still not super cheap, but I liked them way more than anything else I have tried at that price point. And it is easy to tell which ball is yours because the guys you play with probably won't have them.

I LOVE the way the MG gloves feel. However, I tore through the palms in just 2 or 3 rounds. Can't remember which it was. But man they felt good. Just wish they had added palm strength. I have not played Vice, but have some Snell golf balls on order.

I'm surprised the gloves tore for you. Mine have gotten crispy from sweat but otherwise have seemed to hold up well. Let us know how the Snell balls are. I looked at those too and they get good reviews as well. I just tried Vice first for no good reason.

Yeah unfortunately both of them that I got. And I never even used them out on the course. They were both used in indoor sim rounds. But I'm hard on any glove I play. Matter of fact back in the day I used to buy baseball gloves because they lasted longer :-). Now I use a version of the Nike gloves. They have been really good. Although they went to a "plastic" type of cover on the velcro strip that I don't like.

Thought the Snell balls were coming today, but refreshed the FedEx when I got in to work and it looks like tomorrow now. My son has a couple of basketball games tomorrow, so it will be Friday before I get to give them a go.

Got an MG glove off eBay and the trial pack of Vice balls from their website. I'll report back my thoughts.

Even though I would never play the Drive ball IRL I think it might be perfect for guests for my simulator. It says the ball is indestructible.

Very nice, was just thinking about some gloves myself as I was looking at the 3 busted up ones I have in my drawer while playing last night and realizing I keep forgetting to go out and get more haha. Bought one of the expensive footjoy ones the other day and saw wear after my first round and then they were all sweaty and felt the same as any other glove 2 rounds after that, so not worth the expense to me, Im gonna try some of these MG ones right now, good find.

I just got a pair of the standard MG Dynagrip gloves from ebay. A tiny bit thicker leather than my normal Footjoy Stasoft gloves, but otherwise they feel great. I am going to try a pack of the Dynagrip Elite gloves next.

These for sure are my new simulator gloves. And if the Elites are as thin as Stasofts, they will be my new gamers as well.

        Thanks

Keep us informed on that. Im about to order some MGs right now and also like the footjoys as well and would be thrilled if the elite are close to that. Ill actually probably order one of both and see

I wear a medium in most gloves, and found the MG in medium to be a perfect fit.

I wear medium-large in most gloves and the MG medium-large was perfect.

I did notice one issue...the MG gloves have a pretty strong chemical smell to them. You have to wash your hands pretty good after taking them off in order to remove the smell.

Played two rounds with the vice balls now. To me the pro is more like the prov1x and the pro plus is like the prov1. I got more distance out of the pro (damn it was long) but more spin around the greens with the pro plus. Shot 79 with the pro and 74 with the pro plus. I love these balls. Not sure which one I'm going to go with yet but I'm definitely switching to vice balls. Thanks again for pointing these out.

I got my pair of the Dynagrip Elite gloves, and like them alot. They will be my new gloves, once I run through the 6 pack of Stasofts I picked up on clearance this spring.

The Elites are just as thin as Stasofts, and just feel really good.

I too will vouch for the MG Dynagrip Elite gloves. The leather is quite thin and feels and grips great. No problem with tearing, just wearing them out after maybe ten rounds...for the price, I can toss em when they get dirty. Also the MG balls, at $20 per dozen. Currently, their website is selling a Callaway SR3 ball for $22 per dozen. All their balls are three piece with urethane covers. The MG ball tested 6 yards longer than the Pro V1. The website is MGgolf, I think, located in Dallas, Texas.
