  • Decision on golf balls

On the thought of trying to pick out a golf ball that I really like for sim play, I am in a conundrum and have been going over and over what is the best ball to use, I know this has been beaten to death but I was thinking that I have a skytrak which makes sense on getting a correct spin etc. But I also have a PROTEE that I use 90% of the time and so my question is this and would love to hear any thought on this, also would like PROTEEs thought. Does ball type make a difference on this simulator as it would with a launch monitor, does the cams take the ball into the effect as would a GC2 or a skytrak, or am I wasting time on trying to find that perfect ball to optimize my system, I am not sure on this thought, I will be purchasing a GC2 soon and know that the launch monitors this is important but I am hoping that this is also the same as the PROTEE.

Spin is not measured with Protee. So ball only matters for ball speed, and launch angle. Most balls will be pretty close, unless you use a range ball.

Skytrak and GC2, systems that measure spin, it's important to play the ball you would normally play in real life.

I understand this and so if I use a V1 will it read differently then a distance ball on the protee system. Alot of data is generated by the sensor and club on Protee, so will I get more yardage out of my shot as the ball speed would be different. So with this thought the best performing ball for the PROTEE would always be a distance ball and a V1 is a ball that will not impact any measurement that this ball utilizes IRL. Unless you want to be consistent with whats really in your golf bag and have that special type of ball you love to play with on a real course..

so basically my question can be more general, how much ball information does protee use to get actual ball performance I know the cams do launch and direction.
