So I haven’t played TGC in a minute, decide I’d like to play, click on the shortcut on my desktop, and I get a message saying not validating. So I put in a ticket Friday get a message early Monday morning tells me to set up a remote in session.

I reluctantly do it (I don’t know who these folks are), and they start yesterday afternoon right before 5:30 their closing time. So I leave computer on and they go in early this morning. I have an IT guy that monitors my computer and you have to get approval to run things on the PC.

So of course they send me message and they can’t get in because of the message to allow in. I get in touch with my IT guy he allows them in. A few minutes later they say, all good. Walk over to my shed, and of course it doesn’t work.

I message them back and they say that the security measures my IT guy is doing is hampering with them to complete. My IT guy says the guys monitoring flagged Protee and it saying could be a threat. Again I don’t know these guys, but I’m curious to know if them requesting access to your PC to fix is common and if anyone has allowed them access was there any issues.

It’s a mighty damn shame we got to worry about the threat of someone stealing your identity or damage you other ways. Sorry for the long message just trying to get some peace of mind on this situation

I imagine that everyone is nervous to tell you that “no it’s fine to allow ‘x’ access” when no one knows exactly who you are in communication with.

What I am confident to say is that if you are certain that you’re in touch with ProTee, then yes, I believe you can trust them and give them access. If you do some research on this forum you will find that their support is widely recognized as being very good and that people have been very happy with their service. I used their service once when I first setup and they were extremely helpful.
