  • Potential Used Protee Owner!! Computer and Simulator Illiterate!!! HELP!!

    Hi Everyone,

I have been reading up on sims on here for what feels like forever, for those who I have private messaged and responded and all that post helpful/education tips thank you very much!

I may be buying a used ProTee 2.0 Base pack (2013). The owner is throwing in everything except the projector (turf, lights, screen, enclosure, 2 cameras, putting and hitting sensors and computer) $5500 CND. Good deal no?

He has been using it for commercial use for the last 2 winters and I will not be able to test it first hand until it is home as it was set up at the golf club he works at in the pro shop seasonally. He is a golf pro but has taken a job this winter somewhere else and doesn't have time to run the sim this year.

A few questions I would greatly appreciate you guys answering if you could!

    1) He told me that it has 15000 courses...Doesn't the new base pack have 80,000?

    2) He told me he has the TGC Software. on the Protee website it says you can pay monthly. I am confused as I thought it is a one time fee if you buy a ProTee base pack 2.

    3) He told me 4 can play at a time. I'm sure I have read that 8 can play at a time?

    4) Will it be as easy set it up and start playing since it has been used 2 winters or will I have to register some how through ProTee? Download updates? Etc.

    5) Is there anything else you guys would like to add? I am new to this, computer illiterate and don't want to get the system set up and run into problems that I should have known about.

    Attached is a picture!

$5500 is an ok price. How old is the unit? 2yrs or more? Probably past warrant so mak sure it works. If ProTee thn I will hav TGC with 80,000 plus courses. 1 time fee for ProTee. The are looking at a cloud option. 4 can play. Will still require setup and camera settings. Much easier if you have the exact same enclosure, lighting etc. ProTee login support is fantastic but they will charge you if it's past warranty. You will have to register with ProTee and TGC. Obviously a new system will b much smoother to setup.

Thanks Bubba! The unit would be going into its 3rd winter if he used it this year. so first used 2013/14 , 14/15 and now this year. It's past warranty for sure.

It's a decent deal. Make sure everything works before buying. You will be happy with the ProTee once setup well.
