  • TGC data usage

Any idea on the amount of data a round or a tournament may use? I put my sim in my barn and am trying to figure out my best long term solution for internet. I have spent $$ tried extenders and it is just to far of a reach. Even tried the ones that run through the wiring and it is a faint signal at best. Phone company needs to run a separate phone line then the one in the house if I want another service. Hotspot is the next option but I have no idea what kind of data running this software takes. I know that there is a pull in the buried conduit and was thinking about seeing if I could get a ethernet cable run through it. It is 70 yards from my house panel to the barn. Everything goes from pole to barn to house. Last 2 days I have tethered the unit to my wifes work iPad but her vacation is limited where I don't go back to work until the middle of March. I may use a bit of data. lol
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Mine is in my shop 100 ft away from the house. My internet service uses point to point which transmits to a wireless receiver. They call it fixed over wireless. Company is Ptera.com. Unless you are in our area they cannot help you but the technology they use gives me the same speed as I get in my house. Look up the technology and ask your provider if the have that available. My install cost me nothing to add to my service, there were no wires to run underground and it is great. All you need is a new router for the barn. About $50. Google "point to point wireless". You may be able to do it by yourself but I am not sure about that.
This is a great way to do it.

Bought the Ez Bridge LT+ thanks to boerdoc.
Super easy other then the wire from attic to basement to first floor router. Set up antenna by attic window and receiving one inside barn pointed in the general direction of house. Plugged the wire into the back of computer and the service is faster then it was via hotspot. Awesome product and easy install. FYI this will work up to 3 miles away and the make them for up to 8 miles via line of sight. Pretty cool technology running via microwaves.

Thank again to boerdoc. You're ever in Pa and want to play some golf, its on me.

You're welcome. I am glad to help. I do not know why this is not more popular.
Thanks for the offer for golf.
