  • General Questions about purchasing TCG software

First of all thanks for reading and I'm sorry if this is already answered but i could not find it. I have just built a golf simulator with gc2 and fsx software however I would like to purchase TCG. It seems that TCG 2 is coming out early next year but I cannot figure out if that is different from the simulator version ( aka if there will be a TCG 2 for simulators). Does it make sense to buy it or wait for the new version?

They are different software. TCG2 is the pc/console game from hb studios which is currently on version 1 and going to 2 as you note. The TGC Sim is from Protee and currently on version 3.

Protee's TGC sim works great now and is regularly updated so there is no reason to wait. Buy what exists now and take the updates when they come.

My estimate is any trickle through improvements from the hb studio changes will be a year away anyway (ie multiple tees etc).

Thanks FaultyClubs. Do you know if TCG Sim ever has deals or is the price pretty consistent?

        Price is pretty consistent.

In the past year I can only remember one deal for $100 off and that was for skytrak owners when it first came live for skytrak.

          Buy now.

ProTee has already stated that when HB gets TGC2 ready, it will be included without additional charge. Kudos to them for being an ethical company.

The whole point of a four figure outright purchase is "buy once, cry once." This is definitely better for consumers than the recurring revenue model that most companies are trying to force people into.

If updates are not going to come with it, outright purchases suddenly become a not-so-wise move.
