Also, I moved my putting green back so that the Protee picks up the ball on the edge of my putting green. That allows me to putt from the putting green instead of from the hitting area. In my setup, I basically have three spots. Iron, driver, putter.

The alignment board won’t partially cover both areas. The alignment board is much smaller than the hitting area. When you turn the machine on for calibration, you will put the alignment board in the space where the cameras see it, then you can make the hitting area as big as you can (covering the two areas).
I understand but his question and mine too is will there be better accuracy if you hit off the center of the area versus the edges? Or is it that if the ball is detected anywhere the accuracy is the same?

Maybe someone else can respond definitively, but I haven’t seen any difference. The only thing I have seen is, let’s say I am hitting 2’ on the right side, I am lined up 2’ to the right of the centerline on the screen. The sim has no idea what’s on the screen, so if I hit a straight shot, it will impact screen 2’ to the right. The shot will show as starting dead center. It always assumes your strike is from center and ball flight will match ball launch data.

i tested this with putting. No matter where I place the ball it will show ball starting at center and I didn’t see anomalies.

i think your question is will it read ball data differently anywhere in the hitting area…I don’t believe so, but maybe someone else has more info.

So, if I hit to the right of the center of the hitting zone and hit a dead straight shot [I wish], you are saying the ball will appear on the screen starting in the center and going straight down the centerline?

I find the accuracy the same all over the hitting area.

Seems the same to me no matter where I place the ball. However like said above if you don’t hit from center of your hitting area that is lined up with the offset you have set in Gspro it might hit the screen and the ball flight on the screen would not match up. It only affects how immersive the sim feels since the software can care less where you hit the screen. I am super impressed with the VX and so glad it has such a large hitting area.

Wheather you already own one or are shopping .... here's a video focusing on the VX's interptretation of ball impact spot on various clubs .... I think It performs well!

The VX has progressed well in its first 6 months. There have been other reviews suggesting it's not comparable to other similar camera based monitors and more expensive brands, but it simply not true. Given how new it is, the fact that its already rivaling more mature offerings speaks volumes. ProTee just need to further develop the features in Labs to add things like bag mapping and session downloading. An option to move data graphical windows around and/or split tab views would be welcome too.
