  • Balls for the Protee?

Everyone talks about the PIX balls, but they are fairly expensive. Any cheaper alternatives?

I use the balls I play with. Bridgestone Tour X, TP5x, PIX, Pro-V1, or Vice Pro. I haven’t seen any difference in performance on the Protee VX. With my previous simulator I did some pretty extensive testing to determine which ball worked best for me and I end up with nearly identical numbers from these golf balls. You are right they are expensive…that does suck.

The balls are expensive but it's not like you'll lose one and hit them until nothing is left.

I got the VX when it first came out and got the odd "huh?" reading. It was usually high side spin when the club and path were square. My kid has extreme speed and was getting 1/2 back spin on like 1-2 in 10 wedges. I remembered them saying at the PGA show they needed the PIX ball so we tried a PIX that was in my bag and had zero issues. For me, it's the go to.

Wouldn't the Uneekor marked balls work just as well? They seem a lot cheaper than the PIX ones.

Just curious, does the pix balls images wear off and transfer to the screen?

Nothing comes off onto the screen.

Thanks. I'm thinking this may be the hardware I get in the future when I move on from the GC2/HMT.

Having gone the same route I’ll say ball data is similar and it’s nice losing the stickers. HMT wins on accuracy right now for sure but have a club video is sweet. I’m pleased.

So used regular balls and I think the ball data was spot on. Sadly I dont have the ball speeds to create reading issues.
