Been having issues with driver carry distance lately and wondering if anybody else is having the same and if there is any solutions. I am in the process from switching from yellow birtees to the K2 tees, just waiting on Amazon. But in the meantime, my usual carry is 245ish and VX is saying 195-199. It’s not indoor swing syndrome as my 3 hybrid carry reads at about 195 which is accurate for me. Anyone else having problems or have solutions?

Driver carry issues with VX

I have been wondering this myself. I usually carry 260 but can get up to 275-290 if I really get ahold of it. I have only broke 250 carry once on the VX.
what is interesting is my irons are (seem) spot on, only clubs that seem legit short are my driver and hybrid. I have the ping 430 driver and hybrid, maybe the matte finish is impacting the read somehow? I do notice wonky club measurements with those clubs.
I have recently lost a lot of weight so thought that could be a cause, but I was skeptical because all my irons are on point, even long ones (4i carry 210). Interesting to hear others seeing similar issues.

I find the VX carries longer when hit higher with driver. My kid carries it over 300 and launches it high. I'm a bunt.My Courses:

It's about Carry on the ProTee VXOriginally posted by damiang View PostWondering if this thread is about carry in protee play only or are you also referring to gspro (or other sim s/w) where the flight, carry etc are calculated externally to protee? My Courses:

No. GSPro uses it's own algorithms to determine carry.Originally posted by damiang View Post
ok, is the carry on gspro (connected to vx) considered ok and this is just a protee play software flight calculation issue? My Courses:

I contacted Protee support about the driver numbers - they suggested checking the calibration screen and making sure the ball is not too close to the edge of the hitting area. Sure enough it was right on the line (mat must have moved a bit). Driver reads seem much more accurate now. Assuming there wasn't enough space to properly measure the ball stats so that might be worth checking on your end.

that's a good point. i expect a lot of people tee up a driver further towards the screen than other clubs which would leave less flight time in the camera view which i guess gives it less data on which to determine the various measurements. will try to tee more in the middle of the hitting area and move stance back.

How can you determine your hitting area limits? Only during calibration?

GSPro seems to be getting less carry as well but I do understand that it has its own algorithms. But even using just the driving range on labs it’s ~50 yards short. I will try teeing it back on the hitting mat a bit more to see if it helps. I’ll update when I test. But wooden tees seemed to add more distance as well. I’m just not keen at shooting sharp wooden sticks towards my screen

General opinion is that gspro is the better algorithm and that protee labs tends to be shorter but I havent checked that personally. I did a session on a trackman 4 at a commercial facility and saved my last gspro range session (with ball teed in middle of hitting area) and compared results. Average club and ball speed (100, 143) was within 1-2% while carry was 10-15% longer on gspro but that is down to using a higher tee and getting a better launch angle. So, for me, vx/gspro does seem to be producing results that compare well with trackman albeit in a small test in separate sessions, so take from that what you will but certainly nothing like a 50yard difference. My guess is that there is something up with your setup or launch monitor. I use pix balls fwiw.
