  • Considering the ProTee VX...what's the opinion/feedback from actual users?

I currently have the SkyTrak and am happy with it in general, but I'm a lefty and all my friends are RH so it gets annoying to constantly switch it around, Been thinking about upgrading to an overhead unit and the price point of the VX is appealing.

For those of you who are actually using it, what's the verdict?
    • Spin and Carry distances seem accurate?
    • Ball flight seem accurate?
    • Reliable?
    • Misreads?
    • How's the integration to TCG 2019?

For the record, I am following the other posts here in the forum and seeing what others are reporting. Just curious if these are one-off scenarios or a broader sign that the VX is really buggy and maybe shouldn't be a consideration.

You should take a look at the private ProTee Golf Simulator Group - VX Launch Monitor on Facebook, which is much more active than this forum: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1017041379313760

In summary, I think you'll find most owners are happy with their units, finding them as accurate as competitors at a lower cost. They appreciate that no club stickers or special balls are required, and comment favorably about the manufacturer's support and frequent software updates to continuously improve this relatively new product. A few people have reported hardware issues, but they seem a distinct minority; no larger a percentage of customers than might be expected to have had issues with other brands.

I have posted some issues I have seen in this forum, but also want to be clear I’m very happy with the vx and would not change my choice if I could do it again. Overall I find the system very accurate. I think the driver distance may be a little low, but could very well be me too. Today for example I finally realized after so much wedge practice, I was simply standing too close to the ball with my driver, took a little step back and I’m carrying 260 again. None of us are pros and will have bad stretches, easy to blame the LM. I’ve had a lot of friends and family play on it and they all feel it is very accurate as well.

i have had some misreads on the vx, but I’ve also had mis reads on trackman and foresight, no LM is perfect.

i think most of the issues posted here are more one off rather than systemic. Protee support is very responsive and we all want the system to continue to improve.

2 months in and I love my VX and they have been updating regularly. Best decision I made from the Skytrak to the OG Protee to the VX

there was poll on the VX FB group a month or two ago asking if current users would buy again if given the choice and the results was over 95% positive iirc. anecdotally, i played 5 rounds plus practice this weekend and there were 3 no reads in that time and no nonsense reads - pretty solid performance - I was a skytrak user previously and the difference in speed and reliability is night and day and if you are a lefty then the advantages would be even greater! i would add that i use pix balls (i.e. marked) although it seems fine whenever i use an unmarked ball and gspro range (i.e. not the protee play range) and that some of the AI club data is suspect (e.g. dynamic loft) but the excellent club head video compensates for those imo.

Coming from a Skytrak, I love mine too. Like others have said the club data might be not so accurate but the video really shows you how you screwed up ;-)

Mine has been nothing short of outstanding. I moved from a mevo+ and could not be happier. TGC is free to move over your license and works perfect. The only time I have an occasional no read is when my shiny wedge hit the light and it must think it sees another ball but that is very rare and just my shiny wedges. Ball data is spot on in my opinion and when I compared it with the mevo running at the same time all the numbers looked great. I am so glad I moved to an overhead unit and would buy the VX again in a heartbeat

Thanks for the feedback! Appreciate the responses. Looks like I may soon be a VX customer as well.

I love mine. I've had it all winter. After using foresight driver carry felt short but every other carry wasn't. Foresight is long for sure. It's a known thing. My kid carries it over 300 so it's not the VX, it's me. What I did do is increase the temp in settings. Seems better that way.
                      • Spin and Carry distances seem accurate? YES. Hit along with a GC2 to compare
                      • Ball flight seem accurate? YES
                      • Reliable? YES. Very.
                      • Misreads? Only get them using normal white balls. I use PIX

I have had mine Sim room working for 3 weeks now and the Protee VX has been great. A couple of misreads where somebody was handling the ball and it registered a hit - a few no reads - but no reads where someone thought that wasn't what should be happening. The camera feed is soo good and it all feels instantaneous. Was seriously considering a Uneekor Eye XO but the cost difference here in Australia is massive. All in all the ball data seems to be very accurate which is what matters most. Would buy again.

Possibly like yourself, I took a punt on buying here in Aus, where the market is dominated by products built with USA market as 'top-of-mind'. Couldnt be happier with my setup after a 4 month build and a large amount of advice from this forums best posts.

The Protee VX has possibly been the most rewarding part of the build as it could have been the difference between an OK sim and a really good sim.

I have a couple of sessions now and I am really pleased. I know when i pure one and when I miss bad and the readings have really met up with what my expectations are/were for both good and bad swings. I am really blown away. Having a big hotting area really speeds play as well. I am very happy I went with the VX
