    Ball position for putting sensor

I was putting with the ball about 3 inches from the first row of sensors. I moved back to about 5-6 inches and, not sure if it is just a mental thing or not, but I seemed to get better results.

Which begs the question: How far back does everyone place the ball relative to the first row of putting sensors?

I think its definitely easier to put from about 5 inches. When I originally set up my sim, protee suggested it be like 18 inches. It was super inconsistent and speed was difficult.

So the Protee recommendation is to have the putting sensor 2.8' in front of the front of the hitting sensor to the back of the putting sensor. Is this mainly due to shadow overlap of the 2 lights? I want to have the putting sensor a little closer. If I put some sort of baffle on the lights to keep the shadows from overlapping, can I move the putting sensor closer to the hitting sensor? I've seen pictures of other's set-ups where they use tin foil to do this. Just wondering. I'll have a track where the light can move, but more importantly I want to have it figured out before I cut an insert into the putting mat. Thanks.

You actually want the lights to overlapped a little, which help the cameras pick up the ball streak better. But I wouldn't go closer than 2.5".
