This my first post to this forum and I have tried to read everything that I can to make sure my questions are not duplicative. But, if they are, I apologize in advance. I recently purchased the Protee Base Pack 2 and I am in the process of setting it up now. The only issues that I have come up with which I would like some input on are as follows:
1. Is there any way to make the putting surface smooth? Meaning, is there any way to get the slots where the sensors are to be even with your putting surface, perhaps by setting some type of clear material (polycarbonate) flush with your putting surface?
2. I am looking for the most realistic hitting surface that I can find. I purchased a 5-Star Perfect Reaction golf mat (link below) and cut out the space for my sensor mat to be inserted. I am considering removing the Fiberbuilt mat and attaching the the Perfect Reaction mat (with the appropriate cut-outs) to the sensor mat. I realize that I will need add a cover (clear polycarbonate) to the sensor mat, but are there any other downfalls or reasons not to do this? I will add a plywood lift under the stance mat to make the stance mat and sensor mat flush. My main reason for wanting to do this is not only feel, but also I do not need the tee hole on the 5-Star mat as I can just put wooden tees in the turf. This will allow me to hit both drives and iron shots from the same exact spot as I do not like the feel of hitting iron shots from the tee hole in the Fiberbuilt Mat (i.e. no difference in ball speed sensor between the two).
