    SkyTrak wifi issues

I was having wifi issues with my SkyTrak (its been 2 weeks since I purchased it). It kept dropping wifi connection every 5-6 shots to my desktop , which is 15 feet away. Seems like it was lemon from the get go. Called up support and they asked me to mail the device to them.

Has anyone gone through this process ? How long does the unit take to repair usually? Also, do they send out a loaner device while they repair ?

Mine came back within 10 days - although there was no indication about what was wrong or if they fixed it. I called tech support and they looked it up and saw that the notes showed nothing wrong with the unit. I later figured out the problem was due to static electricity in the room. See my post about the connection issue solved. It took me over a month to figure out what was wrong. Good luck. Very frustrating.

Mark72 did they send you a loaner device ? Seems unfair to be paying yearly fee for packages and being unable to play for a couple of weeks due to a defective device.

I am quite sure my unit is faulty. I previously owned a skytrak which worked flawlessly for multiple sessions. I ended up selling that at cost and jumping on the holiday deal.

No loaner. I was actually down more than one month before finally figuring it out. My unit worked great for several months until I put a heater in the room this winter. It's very frustrating! Hope you get yours figured out. There are many posts with ideas to try to resolve network issues. Mine works best hardwired via USB to the PC with the PC connected to my home network via wifi. Before doing that, might try hard resetting the skytrak by pressing the button underneath with a paper clip so it forgets your home wifi. Not sure if that matters, but for me it seemed to help. Good luck!

I had the same issues and many others with mine. Contacted support numerous times without resolution. I tried repositioning the BT adapter and numerous other things. I finally gave up and bought another GC2.
