Ball testing on skytrak

Has anyone tested different golf balls on skytrak in preparation for the upcoming season (past or present)? I've always been a PV1x guy, but the new versions seem to blend the lines and I'm wondering if I should switch to the PV1. I'd also like to compare srixon, chromesoft, and maybe the bb330/s.
If you've done this in the past, how well did it translate to the course? While it'll likely be tough to compare 6-7 golf balls via the ST, it'd be near impossible for me to get it done on the course.

any recommendations you have are appreciated!

I had a test I came up with for ball fittings that basically involved hitting shots at different target yards and checking spin and landing angles. Trying different different types of shots to the same yardages, helps narrow down to a few different balls and then take those few to a course and try chipping and hitting shots with them.

Be careful though, unless you are a robot you are unlikely to attain statistically significant data between similar balls (prov1 vs chrome soft) due to strike but you can see huge differences between ball types (premium vs non).

In my opinion it is a simple choice of premium vs non premium (always premium due to wet performance), and beyond that it is feel based. Chrome soft all day long for me!

Interesting read, thanks for the links. Is that your blog or someone else's? I certainly understand the point that the premium balls may be splitting hairs. My goal would be to, hopefully, identify 2 or 3 of the balls that I might take to the course for a little real-life testing.

Yes, I decided to publish my data in the hope it could be useful to others or better still they would peer review some of it.
