    Desktop or laptop for the Skytrak?

    I am going to go ahead and replace the laptop hooked to my current set up. I have the room for either a desktop or a laptop. Is the desktop a no brainer here? This would only be used for the setup...and would have a 55" TV as a monitor.

    Yep equivalent PC would cost probably 80% of laptop, maybe less.

    Plus you can build your own PC for even further savings. A PC to run TGC smoothly only costs about $650-800

      Yup.

      Desktop = save money
      Laptop = portability if you have a portable set up to begin with (net, mat, etc..)

        How would a configuration look like which runs TGC smooth?

          i5 CPU, 8GB RAM, 1060 6gb GPU, 120 GB SSD, 500W PSU

          Smooth play at high settings (all but trees would be able to be maxed out) with FPS 50-60fps.

          So I bought a desktop...higher end Alien from Dell at a good price. Does the Skytrak have a network plug for hard wiring internet? Also, is there a FAQ on setup, which software to buy, etc?

          Thanks.
