Has anyone any experience of SkyTrak Refurb units. Sky Trak UK are offering refurbs for £300 less than the new price. Has anyone any experience of refurbs?
I have spoken to Skygolf UK, and they have said that some of the refurbs could be a year or so old, which concerns me slightly. I agree you get a 12 month warranty, however, the average life expectancy of the unit will be 12 months less than a new one. Not sure that is worth the couple of hundred quid saving.
I've just got my net etc set up in my back garden and will be buying a refurb. 12 month warranty on an electrical product is good enough for me. If it's going to break it'll probably be earlier on rather than 2 years down the line. Plus it pretty much pays for the Game Improve package for the next 3 years.
I recently bought one in the US and you could not tell it was a refurb. The box was brand new along with the instructions. I just received it Friday of lost week along with the FMJ for protection and it has worked great. Probabaly hit 300 plus balls on it and two miss reads. I was concerned about buying a refurb but I jumped in with two feet and have no regrets. It is a lot of fun to play around just on the range moving the green in and out and selecting harder greens to hit. Was easy to hook up with no issues. For the price you can't go wrong in my mind.
does anyone know if refurb units are also discounted when Skytrak has there 300 off sale? seems like they do sales around christmas and fathers day. would love to get a refurb sub-$1500
This past Christmas, they had no refurbs available, just 300 off new models. Then the refurbs came back once the 300 off promo expired. So I don't think you will be able to get a refurb for cheaper than they list them, but that is my guess.
