  • Best Skytrak Protection?

I've read the plastic case sold by skytrak isn't good.

One person on this board developed the FMJ. But now a different person is developing something similar (but different) under the thread "Sytrak Armour". Why the new thread? Was there something lacking with the FMJ? Is one better than the other?

I purchased the Skytrak Armour. I am very satisfied with it. No fear of damaging the Skytrak and rarely get a misread.

I think you can find a lot of review on the both threads. What I think after reading all reviews : both products are excellent ! I think the Skytrak armor is just a bit better because window camera is full open (but the ball still can not go through).

On the other hand, FMJ is cheaper for a good product too. So the choice is yours, a very good product for 95$ or a very very good product for 145$.

I have any regrets with my Skytrak armor And I could be probably so happy with FMJ ^^

ST itself has mentioned their own development of a metal protective case and posted a photo of a prototype, ETA and price unknown, presumably in an effort to address the shortcomings of their current offering.

I have the FMJ and can tell you it can take a shank (Testing was not done on purpose!) without damaging the SkyTrak unit.

FYI the armour thread was started first The FMJ came out of production first but has also gone through different versions and I think V5 is even still being worked on. The Armour was delayed to come out.....because he wanted it to come out right the first time.

That being said....They're both much better than the plastic skytrak case and both get good reviews. If you want the most protection, a better design IMO for reduced risk of misreads(with the more open face) and don't mind spending a little more $$......get the Armour. Could the robustness of the Armour be overkill? Possibly...but IMO....not when it's protecting a 2K investment. What's great is that depending on what you think....there's options.

I initially went with the FMJ due to cost. I have (I think) the second version with the three bars. I have never had an issue with anything caused by the case. From what I have read about the Armour, it's just as good. For me, I wanted something better than the plastic case I initially bought. They are both good products that do what they are intended to do. I suggest you read a few posts in both threads and just go with your gut.

What I DO NOT want to see is the two developers getting in more pissing contests with each other.

I have a FMJ and have been really happy with it. I'm sure both would be good options.

I have no experience with the FMJ, I have the Armour case and love the build and never worry that a ball will damage the unit if it were to get hit!

i have the FMJ and it has been great. It protects the ST as I can attest after hitting it directly a few times. I only get "no reads" when i hit really terribly, and experienced some "weird reads" when i hit a 3 or 4 wood at the range. But it's been great. I've read great things about the Armour also. If you're looking for something to protect your 2k investment, either would be a great option.

                    Good luck.

I just got my Armour and the thing is a tank and all my worries about hitting the machine have gone away and I'm swinging more freely. Just gotta watch the ceilings now I accidentally ordered the FMJ from ebay and contacted him after I realized my mistake and he easily allowed me to cancel so props to both for good customer service. My reason for the Armour is not having the potential to have misreads with the bars. Think either is MILES ahead of the plastic case that mine came with.
