Iv had the unit a week and a half and iv always used the rubber tees with the big round base sitting on top of the turf. I would average about 180 yards per drive which is shorter than i do irl, but last night i cut a hole under the mat soo that the tee would stay in place after it was hit, i was driving about 220 average. Is it not recommended to use them tees?

Tees effecting distance

I noticed the same issue when I first started using my SkyTrak. I didn't want to move my SkyTrak around, so I used the rubber tees that came with my mat. However, I tied a string to them and a metal bar-b-que skewer that I would slide under the back of my mat, so I didn't have to chase the tee around. I always got crappy distances and sometimes weird ball flights that I attributed to the white rubber tee interfering with the camera as it would fly in the air.
Switching to the Tomahawk tees solved my problem! I get very realistic distances and ball flight that more matches my real game. I also think because the Tomahawk tees are colored, the SkyTrak does not get confused by seeing two white objects. I initially bought two packs of Tomahawk tees, but have been using the same long and short tee since I started using them.
