    Skygolf SkyTrak Protective Metal Case

Just noticed that there is an "official" Skytrak metal case now for sale on their website. Anyone have any experience with it? I currently have the plastic case but this one looked interesting because it seems to protect the glass strip as well which I haven't seen any other case really provide. I think it's $50 off for existing Skytrak owners as well.

Use code METAL50 through the end of this month. The thing is bulletproof.

Seth, Is there any reason that almost all promos you guys do are only good for in the US? Would love to get this case with this discount.
      Thank you!

Thanks Seth. I just bought one without the code. Do you think they'd deal with me on getting the $50 applied to a software upgrade?

I'd just contact support and let them know you didn't know about the code. Hopefully they can adjust. (or apply to another purchase like you mentioned)

I just received my case and its pretty great. Its super solid and well constructed. I especially like the alignment rod holder and the included bubble level.

I agree. It's nice and I like the handle to easily pick it up and move it. Curious as to how or what you use for the alignment rods?

I am looking to buy a Skytrak. Do you really need a case? I mean if you whack it with a club will the case really keep it from breaking?

It's more for toe shots/extreme shanks into the unit. If you are hitting it with a club you've got bigger problems. I could maybe see catching it swinging the club backwards out of frustration.

Ive used the Skytrak for 6 months without a case and luckily nothing bad happened. Ive had a few close calls with balls bouncing back off the screen and hitting the top but no direct hits from shanks. The case is all plastic though and an errant ball could easily damage the case and potentially break the unit. So Ive also been very selective about who I let use it.

Now that I bought the metal case its been a whole new story. Its great for taking to the range as the metal case is very solid and the Skytrak is bolted into the case. There is an integrated carrying handle and the leveling feet make it great for setting up for mats of various heights. Since it works with my phone as well as my PC having the case allows me to use the Skytrak anywhere I have my phone. Almost every time Ive taken it to the range, someone eventually asks to try it.

At home, we have more fun with the simulator as we can have more people over to play. The players also swing easier knowing that they dont have to worry if their swings aren't that great. Since we have the simulator package it much more fun playing rounds with people of all skill levels.

With the amount of dough I spent on the Skytrak I think the case is a no brainer in terms of protecting it but also getting more use out of it. With the online coupon its definitely worth the peace of mind and the increased usage.

New Skytrak owner, with metal case. Probably 2nd time I used it, still getting used to swinging indoors, had a shanked ball hit into the case... it's already paid for itself.

We're in the process of supplying the UK team with inventory. Once the pieces are in-house, the UK team will be putting together their own promotion for the case. Once we know something, we'll post the info.

If you set this down on the grass next to the ball is it already too high? As in, if I go to the range with this would you essentially need to dig a hole to make this thing level with the hitting area? How sensitive is the skytrak to being above or below the ball by a few centimeters?

It works fine for me laying flat on the grass at my local range. Its actually much easier for me now to use on grass as the added weight of the case stabilizes the unit and keeps it from tilting as much as it did before without the case. For use on grass at my local range, the weight of the case actually causes the skytrak unit to sit even or maybe even slightly below the ball on the turf. This is with the leveling feet completely removed.
                Working...
