  • Skytrak LED and top light flashing

I purchased the metal protection case from Skytrak and now when in TGC the top light keeps flashing and the LED will appear on my mat and then disappear. Is this an issue with the case? Maybe it is not level enough?

It is also an issue in the Skytrak range application

      Any ideas SkyTrak_Seth ?

I raised the case and it still seems to happen. Every second shot or so it flashes a few times and then no reads, then it works for a shot then back to flashing

Is the SkyTrak connected with USB, direct mode, or network mode? I'm assuming this is always to PC since you are running TGC? Sounds like something is causing a reflection...and you say it works fine in the plastic case (or with no case)?

It works fine with the old plastic protective case and no case. I was able to raise it up and now it only happens 30-40% of the time

Well that's better, but a problem 30-40% of the time is still not acceptable. Let's try to get that down to 0% So you're saying you are raising the case, as in adjusting the legs so it sits higher? Inside a case or not, on the mat or not, the bottom of the SkyTrak unit should sit flush with the hitting mat surface. Maybe you can send me a picture or video of this?

I'm experiencing the same issue. I bought the protective metal case and after trying two sessions of hitting balls, only ONE shot has ever registered while Skytrak was in the protective metal. After the one ball registered, nothing was moved or adjusted and no subsequent balls would register.

I tried it with Skytrak screwed into the case and with it not screwed into the case where I could move it around incrementally side to side and forward and backward to see if small adjustments would cause it to pick up the ball...nothing worked. Skytrak works fine in the plastic protective case and freestanding unprotected. I also turned the protective metal case around so the front of SkyTrak was sitting in the metal case but on the unprotected side and all the shots registered. This would suggest that it's not an issue with the height.

              Any ideas? Thanks.

I was sitting in front of mine around 2 ft away while it was in the metal case and it seems to stop blinking. I am not sure if something is the Skytrak is reflecting off a piece of the metal case or maybe the case is a new schematic vs. previous cases? I also covered up the background with a black tarp and it was still blinking

I had something similar happen. For me it happened when I was connected in USB mode, it works OK in Direct or Network modes.
I'm extremely frustrated with my Skytrak. I can't play a hole on TGC right now without getting at least one no read (no trigger) - it happens in the Skytrak range

I've always run in USB mode and didn't have any troubles until I started using the metal case, but I'm willing to give direct or network modes a try as a workaround. However, it doesn't explain why all my shots are picked up while in USB mode and using plastic case or freestanding, then fail using USB / metal.

Not sure why but I saw the same thing happen with mine.

Can you guys with the issue please PM me your email addresses? We are trying to gather some more info on the technical side. Specifically, if the unit is screwed into the case and if direct/network mode works.

Today I put Skytrak in the metal case (unscrewed) and tried Network Mode for the first time and it picked up all my shots.
                      Thanks for the suggestion weakhead.

It sounds like not using USB mode if you have a metal case is the workaround for this issue?

How do you set it to network mode? Is this something I can try in TGC?

You set up network mode in the Skytrak app. Once network mode is set up close the Skytrak app.
Open the Skytrak TGC app and "connect box", then "play game". You only have to set up network mode once in the Skytrak app.

I unplugged the USB cable and it works perfectly again. I guess the metal case is causing some kind of interference?

My guess is static. Do I have everyone's email address who has encountered this problem?
