    Export data from SkyTrak?

I am looking to buy a SkyTrak and can't figure out if I can export shot data from a skills assessment to an excel spreadsheet?

    I want:
    * All shot data for each shot (Carry distance, total distance, yards offline, backspin, sidespin, launch angle, ball speed, etc...)
    * I want to export all of this data to a spreadsheet
    * I will be running SkyTrak on a PC

If this is possible, would someone be willing to post a sample document or screenshot?

I only plan on exporting data from a skills assessment.

I reached out to SkyTrak directly and talked to 3 different nice people but none of them had a clue if this was possible. Pretty frustrating. Not only that, but I didn't get the sense that any person I spoke with (or chatted with) has ever even touched a golf club. Effective customer service is challenging when you don't know your product and you don't know the game.

Thanks for sending over Sroest. The files you sent are PDF's. Is there any way to export shot data in excel format or comma delimited format?

Having a formatted PDF file does me little good.

I am afraid that pdf is the only format at the moment. There isn't an option in the iPad app to select the format for the export.

Does the export button using the skytrak app on the iPad work, it seems to load but no output?

Export of data in the Skytrak IPad app works fine. If you press the export button an email appears with a PDF document attached to it.

Thanks for the follow-up. This is very unfortunate. I wonder if the PC is different?

Trying to get an answer from SkyTrak on this has proven to be impossible. Not exactly a warm fuzzy from a customer service perspective,

PC is the same, PDF only at the moment. I think this has been requested in the past and Skytrak have said the next release is a big one so who knows what we will get. It shouldn't be a hard thing for them to implement as there are unsupported ways to do it fairly easily.

Unsupported ways to export to excel (or csv)? Where can I find info on that? As silly as it sounds not being able to export to excel is a deal-breaker for me.

My day job is in data science and analytics and I like to take all my shot data and "do nerdy math stuff" with it.

You could just take the pdf and export it to a CSV. A simple macro would then import the relevant fields into your custom worksheet. Simple for someone of your background of data manipulation, no? I would think that should not mean it is a dealbreaker?

It's easy to copy the data from a PDF to an excel spreadsheet - just do it via a WORD file (I'm a mathematician and I like to do "nerdy math stuff" with it too! )

When the export button is pressed on the iPad skytrak app it looks likes its loading but nothing happens, no email link or PDF link. Any help would be appreciated

We will be adding a csv option in the future...probably not until next year though.

If on iOS and nothing happens when you try to export, then chances are you don't have an email client setup.

SkyTrak_Seth would it be possible to create a "Open with" button to save the PDF in another app on the iPad? this functionailty is in most apps nowadays. I use my Skytrak at the driving range with no signal and would like to just save them locally in one of my PDF apps.

I will look into this. When we launched, email attachment was the only viable option, but times have changed Of course, you could still email them in the meantime and leave them sitting in your outbox to send whenever you get internet.
