SkyTrak Network Mode using hotel resort wifi w/o password

Anyone knows if you can use SkyTrak in network mode using a hotel/resort wifi which does not require a password or a separate screen that pops up to input or accept any terms & conditions? What do you put in the password field then? Seems like I cannot leave it blank or else the "Connect" stays grey and cannot be clicked on?

So anyone (or SkyTrak_Seth ), any thoughts on if possible to use SkyTrak in network mode on wifi that requires no password? If so, how? Thanks.

Not sure if you're at the resort already? Anyhow, you might look at something like this:

Thanks. Our club has a driving range. Got bored w using just SkyTrak driving range in direct mode and wanna try hitting some balls on range using WGT since I have my iPad w me. So was just wondering if a wifi network w/o password required can be used to set up SkyTrak using network mode? Thanks.

I apologize, I can't answer that one specifically. Just thought I'd throw out the option. It's a small expense (travel router) with many uses, but might not be practical for your use. I think given my prior experience with the Skytrak unit, you might have some issues with the wifi range (distance) at your club & the temperament of the Skytrak unit itself even if there was a way to do what you're attempting to do.

Thanks. My club's wifi is very strong everywhere including the range so thought I give it a try and use there w WGT on iPhone or iPad. Thanks anyways as it seems like SkyTrak will not work w wifi that does not require a password (or at least no one has confirmed this could work). Thanks again and best regards.

SkyTrak_Seth, since you're back. Do you know if ST can work in network mode on a wifi network that does not require a password? If so, what do you type into the password field? Thanks.

As far as I know, yes. You just leave the password field blank (security type = none). I know I tested that a long time ago, but I would need to retest. I will next week.

Great! "Security type = none" - I think that might be the part I was missing. Thanks.
      Working...
