  • Advice on purchasing used Skytrak

Hey guys I have an opportunity to purchase a used Skytrak with protective cover for $1200, but before I spend that much cash I'd like to know if there are things I should know ahead of time or check out. For instance, are there different revisions of Skytrak and would I be purchasing an old model? Are there defects I need to be aware of? Is that even a good deal, etc. I appreciate an knowledge you could pass my way. Thank you.

Probably want to check the number of shots already taken with it. Not sure how much that matters but good place to start to see if the unit has been overused? Thought SkyTrak mentioned somewhere on this forum that there's tracked amount before the laser may require service.
Current owner can grab this data from their SkyGolf account page.

I don't believe that data is accurate. Mine was brand new from day1 and there were shots showing up on the website, and if I recall correctly and wasn't just a few.

That may be the cheapest I've seen a used Skytrak sell for. I think that's an outstanding deal and would pounce if I had the opportunity. I've only had mine for 3 months (new) so I'd be of no help with regards to purchasing a used one, but I can say that while I was searching/researching (months), I never once saw a used Skytrak at 1200.

I'm meeting up with the gentlemen to check it out later this week, I will let you know if the offer is real. Fingers crossed. From what I've been told he purchased last year (original owner), but hasn't really had the time to use it as much as he has liked. "Too many hobbies"

Was supposed to meet the guy yesterday, but hadn't heard back about a time. Went golfing around 2 and when I got home an email from the guy saying he sold it. Freaking craigslist people. Always a crapshoot. So.. I guess I'm in the market again. There's another on there for 1799 with case. Seems high for a used one that isn't certified. Let's say I make an offer. Any suggestions?

I wouldn't pay more than 1400 for a used one out of warranty and would increase it up to 1700 depending on time remaining on plans (game improvement etc.) and accessories (metal case etc.)
