I had some noreads with my skytrak, but I've found that using a TRUVIS ball helps things a lot. Also, there's no need to turn any logo towards the launch monitor as the patterns are all over the ball. Unfortunately for outdoor play TRUVIS balls are no use at the moment - they get lost in the leaves..........

I too have found the red soccer ball Truvis very consistent with Skytrak. However, SkyTrak_Seth stated that skytrak cameras use infrared and that anything red basically gets washed out.. so maybe I *want* to believe it is consistent??Originally posted by skytrakali View Post

How about the white & green Truvis balls that Dick's sells? Has anyone tried those yet? If it does use infrared, which makes it harder to see red, then green should stand out pretty well!

Dick's has $8 off per dozen sale on the Truvis balls right now. I picked up a dozen of the green and white today, hoping that they would improve the frequent no reads I get while putting. Unfortunately, they weren't any better than a normal white ball for me. Actually I take that back, they are slightly better than a normal white ball (Pro V1, K Sig, etc), but equal to the big B Bridgestone balls (B330).Comment

I mentioned this in a previous post about Truviz balls but I noticed that my projector screen was starting to get light pink streaks after using the Red/White balls. We stopped using them right away.Comment

I got my green & white Truvis balls last week and I'm not at all happy with them. The first 10 shots or so didn't even register. I thought there was something wrong with the machine so I tried a regular white ball and it read it just fine. Then I tried the Truvis again, still no read. I use my sim in the dark but I do have a light that I can turn on above the ball. When I did that, it started reading the truvis ball. But I would still get about 1 out of 10 no-reads. Then I started doing some shorter chip shots with it, and found that I can't get it to register on any distance under about 50 yards. I'd hit a white ball with a 30 yard chip and it would read fine, then immediately hit the truvis and I'd get nothing but no-reads. It didn't get a single one. And then as soon as I switched back to the white ball it started reading every single one just like normal.

the only truvis ball i found that is consistent is the white and red. maybe its my lighting, my room etc but if i stick to those colours I'm going to get a consistent reading.
the yellow and black ones i use on the course simply do not register for me. the other colours I've tried are "hit and miss"Comment

The white and red TRUVIS ball works really well for me but I do notice that after 200 shots or so the red pentagons sure begin to fade, and that colour's gotta be going somewhere (like my projector screen I fear). I don't see fading with standard white balls with black writing.Comment

I recently purchased both the Truvis Yellow/Black and Red/White and actually found that the Yellow/Black had more misreads than the Red/White, which was surprising. Then I switched to a standard white ball and it performed better than both Truvis balls. My simulator screen looks better in low-light conditions, although should there be bright light in the hitting zone? I recall may Optishots users would put a spotlight on the hitting zone to help with the sensors.
