I know that Xbox can run Windows so should it be the same thing as running it on a computer?
I was wondering if The Golf Club would work on an Xbox One

The golf club game already exists for Xbox one. I am not sure why skytrak can’t send data to it as it would drastically lower the entry to simulation for players already spending $2k on a skytrak. Having to spend $2k more just to get a gaming PC and the TGC for PC is overkill. TGC for Xbox can be found for like $20. I guess there are so few people using a simulator this way they had to price it so high to get dev costs back, but dev costs for Skytrak integration should be peanuts in compared to creating the entire game which also doesn’t sell that many copies. Requiring a gaming PC definitely doesn’t meet the target audience who likely has a decent computer at home (likely a laptop for work) just not a desktop with a $400 graphics card. But they couldn’t justify the price tag of their $1k software if it ran in low-res mode on a 4 year old laptop even though functionally it is the same.

Swarm99, just so you know there is a $20 PC version of TGC as well on Steam. I'm not sure why they charge so much more for the simulation version but I'm sure they had to do much more work to get it integrated over just the regular game play. So even if they used Xbox I imagine it would still be $1000 for the game.

The Golf Club is also a PC game that you can buy for $20, so they don't have to create an entire game. You are paying $1000 basically for their development time that was needed to send ball and/or club data from various platforms (Protee, Skytrak, GC2, etc.) and then take that data and apply flight algorithms to it. They also have top notch support. They have remoted into my computer several times to help fix issues that were specific to my ISP. These expenses are fixed, so even if you could play it on Xbox, the software would still need to be $1000 to make it worth their effort. You have to remember that you are talking only hundreds of simulator users versus hundreds of thousands of normal video games.
As far as playing on Xbox, I would imagine that Xbox is not as easy to send data to since they have to support several protocols (bluetooth, wifi, USB) for different hardware. With the 1060 graphics cards, you can get a complete PC that is plenty good in the $700 range instead of $2k, or you can add a $275 graphics card to a computer that you already have. The processor requirements are minimal, so you don't need to worry about getting a top of the line processor or tons of ram.

Sorry I should have been more clear on what I meant in the first place, I'm just wondering if you can get the 1k dollar version of TGC to work on an Xbox one
