  • JNPG Conncetion

I can usually only get a couple holes in before conception drops. At first i couldn't connect at all until I realized I had to quit the Skytrak app first. Now I can connect once the Skytrak app is closed, but I get a lot of disconnects during the round:

    1. Im using a iPhone LTE hotspot hardwired into PC via USB. Signal isn't bad, but not great. Do incoming texts or calls affect the connection?

    2. Once I get dropped, I don't know how to reconnect other than restarting everything including the skytrak and app. Is there an easier way to get back connected.

The very frequent disconnection of JPNG from Skytrak was one of the reasons I started using Creative Golf 3D.
Now I've only had one Skytrak connection down during the month of use.

The connection solution that JPNG uses over PGSimConsole is probably very unreliable and JPNG should solve this quickly.
It can be seen that this can be solved when the competition does not have problems with connection failures.

I play it every day and almost never have issues and I've seen tremendous improvement in the sim console in the 9 months or so I've been playing. Some really, really cool features available because of the sim console. I took a lesson from a PGA Pro in the UK at 5:30 AM my time over skype and he had real-time access to my practice data - it was fantastic. Issue seems to be on your end, whether it's network or pc hardware or whatever. I don't think it's an issue with the sim console.

We find on the JPNG Tour it's only a handful of new owners get connection problems, otherwise a good 60-70 tournament rounds per week are being successfully completed with SkyTraks. So I disagree, it's not easy to solve. E.g. as ThreeChip was doing initially - running the SkyTrak app at the same time. If I have a connection problem, I usually find it's my PC's ethernet cable, or the battery is low on the SkyTrak. Very quickly solved. I do wish simconsole showed a warning when battery level is low like the SkyTrak app does however.

ThreeChip - to reconnect just hit "Connect Perfect Golf" on PGSimConsole. But really you need to find out why it's dropping out in the first place as that is not normal. Run a Wifi analyzer app on the phone to see what other Wifi networks you're competing with for bandwidth and change channel if need be.

To add: I only use a cable connection. It is wrong to use PGSimConsole in my opinion. This is another link in the chain that may fail.

I have a Webiost signal booster coming soon so i can take that element out of the equation. My shop doesn’t have any other networks around it.

according to the Simconsole, it stays connected, but says, Sending shot data: failed, or something close to that.
Once this happens, I can’t get a shot to register despite being still connected. Even if I disconnect and reconnect. I can change modes, arm and disarm, but it just won’t send my shot data to the game.

Have you got the $250/yr sim pass and the $100/yr GIP btw? I'm not sure of the behavior if you don't have those, but they're needed.

Also rule out Internet - it's needed to start JNPG with SkyTrak, but after it's started, you can happily play away offline.

Yes, I have both passes. I’ll try without the internet next time and see what happens
