Hello all! New to the forums and wanted to make a post for those of us looking for sim software for the Skytrak. Most all of the reviews that talk about WGT are from 2015, which small opinions scattered since then. Has anyone used WGT in 2017, and has it improved since its release? Would it be worth buying a $1000 Windows PC plus $200/year to play JNPG? Or just stick with WGT for $100 a year on an existing device? Any opinions on any Sim Software is greatly appreciated!

WGT is a waste of money imho. I took the leap and bought the fancy pc and am now running JNPG. Couldn't be happier! Plenty of people to play with online or play with up to 8 of your own family or friends all of which can have a different Tee box if needed. Also a lot online tournaments. -
Please help a newbie just getting used to skytrak We have had it for a month now and my daughter and I are trying to get used to it. JNPG would seem to be a good option because based on prior message it has separate tee boxes? What is JNPG? I assume to play it you would have to have wifi. I have skytrak set up in an out building about 100 feet from house any good suggestions on how to get wifi out to that building? I have tried wifi line extenders and they don't seem to get enough signal out there.

Jack Nicolas perfect golf. It's one of the many options you Have with your Skytrak. Jnpg and E6 both have different sets of tee boxes you can choose. TGC does not but its fun to play in the tournament's. Jnpg offers tons of modes and options and a good size group of guys to play online ,matches,scrambles etc with on a daily basis.Originally posted by tjbeerman View Post

Jnpg courses are built on lida r data which is the real terrain so you get about as much as a real version of the course as you ever will. Honestly I prefer the short game on TGC just a tad over JNPG puttting/short game. To menthe graphics on JNPG look more like a real course. TGC is a little bit video game looking more than realistic but some people prefer that look.
If you're going to be playing with your family, get E6 or JNPG because you'll need the Tee boxes. Tgc2 suppose to have that option but no clue when that's coming out.
Agree with Colin about the Ethernet. If you can, run a Ethernet from your router out to the building underground. I did that myself from a spare eletricial hookup from an old washer and dryer. Used that for electricity and ran Ethernet cable along with the wires in a tube about 24 inches underground out to my "golf shed". I own both TGC and JNPG, and also own a Skytrak. Don't know much about WGT, but most of the feedback i hear is there are other better options. JNPG seems to be a fair option for owners of GC2's but I wouldnt recommend it for Skytrak users. I have had issues with putts not registering, going backwards and ghost shots registering when placing my ball for the next shot. I don't have any of those issues with TGC. If you need multiple tee boxes, then JNPG may be a good option for you, otherwise, I would urge you to take the plunge and pay the one time fee for TGC. You will have less frustration with some of the options that are available imo.Comment

I own a skytrak with TGC a recent purchase so my comment might have not so much weight, i am also a long haul trucker and sets up a net on the road and uses hot spots which i can play offline if i lose signal, i have not had any issues with JNPG whatsoever and my skytrak works great. eddie might have a bad set up but i think mine is worse as i play in truck stops and hotels. and i have not had issues with TGC either, all i can say is to each his own on software pick, and WGT is not so bad.Comment

There are a good 60-70 tourney rounds per week completed by SkyTrak users on JNPG without issue. SkyTrak is undoubtedly a sensitive creature but we get it going for everyone who listens if the SkyTrak itself isn't faulty. The only JNPG related issues we encounter are users simply not realizing they need to buy the sim pass, or not understanding both SkyTrak and JNPG have to be manually put into putting mode if putting from off the green. All the rest are SkyTrak or network issues.
I wouldn't buy the $200/yr package - not even sure why it's even offered, when for an extra $50 you get all 200+ courses and new ones as they're released (apart from licensed courses which are $5-$6). Must be some silly marketing gimmick to make the $250/yr package look good - but it doesn't need it - $250/yr is excellent value.
