  • Skytrak Network Mod

I have been using Skytrak with no problems for almost a year in Network Mode on my PC.

This morning I played a couple of rounds on TGC. When I shutdown Windows did an update.

Came back later and could not connect in Network Mode.

Called support and they connected to my machine. I could connect via USB Mode and also could connect by Network Mode on my iPad.

Skytrak appears to be working fine. Appears to be a PC issue. Laptop is used only for Skytrak.

Support was going to get back to me regarding whether I should uninstall the Windows update. I am current in Skytrak software and firmware.

    Any thoughts??

Decided not to wait for Support and uninstalled Recent Windows Update. Everything works as before and can connect via Network Mode on my PC.

What should I do about future updates?

turn them off. I think there is a setting for this.

I can see hiding that update but wonder about future updates. Not a good idea to not perform Windows Updates. Guess I will keep doing updates and see if it happens again. Wonder why others have not had issues.

I had this issue this past week as well. Didn't think about it being tied to an update. I could eventually get it to work after doing some PC restarts. It was as if the PC wasn't finding the USB device. Even after it connects the PC gets a little wonky, slow mouse movements, can't click on items in the taskbar, etc.

Same problem here after the latest rounds of windows 10 updates. Could connect fine before in network mode but not since the updates rolled. Luckily my pc has a wireless card and can use that to directly link up to the skytrak and use the ethernet still for internet but that just adds an unnecessary step.

Let me know if you get any resolution back, because as you said would rather not turn off windows updates...

Oh man what a disaster. I was having the some problem as you guys. I ended up putting a paper clip in the hole in the bottom to reset it, and tried putting in my wifi info again. Now I can't do anything. Can't even get it to connect via usb. And to top it off, putting a paper clip in the bottom does absolutely nothing now. Can't even reset it anymore. Sorry if I'm rambling, really frustrated right now with this thing.

Well I got in connected in USB mode kind of. The only way I can do it is by turning my router off. But if I try with the router on, the middle light just blinks yellow continuously.

edit... got it! I had chosen the wrong network security. If anyone does this it will just keep trying to connect to it and there is nothing you can do. Turn off your router and start the setup again.
