  • vampiric hardware doesn't appreciate sunlight, how about cold weather?

I get it. No one likes waking up with a hang over, walking outside and "pow", blinding sunlight. But that's what sunglasses are for. Laptops don't really like sun either, but you can by a sunhood for $20 and problem solved. Has anyone come up with a good workaround?
Does anyone know if cold weather has an impact on the ST? I think the manual says to avoid extreme hot or cold temps.

Not sure what you consider hot and cold, but I have my skytrak setup in an unheated 4 car garage. It gets down in the low-mid 40s in there during the winter and I haven't experienced any issues playing at those temps. Same in the summer playing in 80+ temps. If you are talking 30s and below, I would probably be doing something other than hitting balls in my garage as I would be more worried about my body having issues than the skytrak.

I pretty much hit balls all winter at the range, here in CT. And yes, definately 30s and colder. We do have heated range bays at the range I use and I find that once you get warmed up a bit, it's not too bad.

I find the cold does affect it. I get more misreads, delay and no reads when the device is cold (30's). I bring it inside my house from the garage when I am not using it and that tends to work better.

I have a feeling mine misbehaves a bit in the cold. I hit sometimes in a 20 degree garage. Even with me fully warmed up and warm golf balls in my pocket, I had some suspect ball speeds. Not sure if whatever shutter type the cameras use is effected slightly or something like that.
