    Skytrak Troubleshooting

A suggestion for the Skytrak folks. I have the same issues others here have had with no-reads. I can play on TGC with no issues for hours and the next day be lucky to get to balls to read. I am into my DYI build for $5,600 and have to spend hours searching these forums to try and come up with fixes or things to try.

Seth does a nice job responding when he can, but he can only guess and offer suggestions where he doesn't have access to the individual's setup. It would be nice if Skytrak put a troubleshooting section on their website with all of the documented issues and fixes, for not just no reads, but for other performance issues as well. I think if their developers were more pro-active in diagnosing issue causes we'd see measureable results in user satisfaction.

I know in my job, I meet with our developers once a week and my team actually brings the developer rep over to their desk when they encounter an issue so they can see the application error. This has markedly improved how quickly they can diagnose and fix bugs. Before, the developers would have to guess and review the systems logs and often wouldn't find the problem. Seeing is believing.

My 2 cents. Love the product when it works, although my wife might not mind the nights it doesn't work.

Agreed! As a life long IT pro - there is most definitely a way to present what the skytrak 'sees' on no reads. That could help us troubleshoot immensely. Skytrak cannot say it's 'ok' to not give errors with reasons when something goes wrong. No software being sold keeps giving errors w/no explanation. I also appreciate the work done by Seth and Skytrak - but why we get misreads can be explained if they output a bit more info.....
