This would be a problem with the fogging of the optics. If the unit ST contains moisture, condensation occurs at low temperature.
Allow the ST to "acclimatize", it means leaving the ST for a long time in the cold and then using it.

So I was leaving the ST in the garage at all times but I was getting misreads, more then the occasional one. With it being so cold I thought it would be better for it to store it inside. During the last cold spell it was probably getting down to the teens in the garage.

This I think, would likely be a voltage issue rather than a condensation issue. Besides that, in cold garages, you might see some fog on the device when you first bring it out, but the dry air will quickly get rid of that. I have never had it stay on, my problems had come in the past after leaving it out there for a few hours. I ended up just chocking it up to either a voltage issue or mechanical issue with the camera shutters (if they are mechanical).

I also live in CT and this past week temperatures in my town were down to -5 degrees. My skytrak is in the garage and temps were in the low teens. I was having difficulty connecting to WiFi. I brought the unit inside to remove it from its case and clean it. The unit subsequently started working so I went back out the the garage. After 30 min of hitting the unit began to lose connection and displayed crazy shots (900 yards backwards).

I guess I need to invest in a garage heater to keep temps above 20 F.

I live in Michigan and also use my ST in the garage. I only have a small space heater that is able to keep the garage at 32*F when the temperatures were in the single digits. I never had any problems other than the battery not lasting more than 2 1/2 - 3 hours. I had some no-reads, but I moved the ball around the laser and it worked.
