  • TGC on skytrak driving distances

    Hello all!

Im new to this, I just finished the e6 trial. Only thing I didn’t like was the chipping around the greens and putting. But driving and 3 wood and 5 wood distances were pretty accurate.
I hit my driver from 295-310.
    3 wood 265-285
    5 wood 240-255

now that being said I’m a 7 handicap and can pretty consistent off the tee.

I just got TGC and tried It out. But I have yet to hit anything off the tee farther than 255 lol
that was with a straight smash with my driver.
    Mia there any changing this?
Should I do the club mapping with skytrak in their software. Or am I stuck with this.
Will be very disappointed if there is no solution.

    Any my help is appreciated.
    Thanks guys

Are you by chance hitting indoors or are the distances different between the skytrak range and TGC distances you are seeing? I will start with the easy answer hopefully.....many folks have issues when adjusting to hitting indoors, especially with the driver, even those with lower handicaps like yourself. There are several threads floating around about the indoor swing syndrome and most people have overcome the issue with a wee bit of patience as they become more comfortable hitting indoors.

Yea I am swinging indoors. I played the E6 trial for 30 days and took at bit to get my drives up. I was using my 3 wood mostly because I hit it far and consistent.
I have changed nothing but the software.
Last night was playing e6 and hit mulitpule 280 yard 3 woods.
Started up the TGC software tonight and couldn’t hit one farther than 255 lol

I see the same types of issues... I know I hit my driver 270-300 (outside) on a fairly consistent basis and Skytrak / TGC shows much lower numbers even with boost turned on at 5%.

I can tell I'm striping many of these TGC driver shots and they just always fall short of where I think they should be. Can't really figure this one out yet.

It has been several times. When you training and playing on a simulator you need to compare CARRY distance, here the software calculates quite accurately. It is very difficult to simulate the rolling of ball. If you have a CARRY distance the same in indoor and out, it is all OK.

When comparing distance, check ball speed (BS), club speed(CS), ball back spin(RPM).
if numbers are similar, but distance is different, use boost up to 5% to match.

Yup I figured out how to put the boost up. And it is much more enjoyable. Actually it’s freaking awesome compared to the e6.
I chipped in a 8ft chip. I could never even get close on the other. They both have a few cons but TGC is great.

Another E6 user, Jordan Speith should switch to TGC too 😉
