  • New skytrak shot recognition problems.

My newly bought refurb skytrak has been set up in my garage/studio, will post pics later, and in any mode, usb, direct or network it won't register shots hit even tho it shows connection. Actually in usb mode and direct wifi mode it has recorded 25 shots over 6 minutes of interrupted use, tho I don't know why it happened, and then stops it working even tho the settings/connection has not changed. have reset the unit and changed ball, including truvis, lighting, ball position etc and despite numerous chat sessions have always been told to phone the helpline number who told me to email skytrak who told me to reset the unit. aaaargggh.

Any chance your clubs have white shafts in them? When I bought my brand new SkyTrak I could not get 90% of my shots to register. Turns out the white Ozik Program shafts interfered with the cameras catching the white golf ball. Hitting off a matt that isn't colored green has also caused me problems.

It’s also worth mentioning that in the past some people haven’t noticed the clear protective film that is on the unit where the cameras are. Make sure that there isn’t something in yours.

Well it seems my sky track unit has tested as working ok. Was wondering if a white wall background has given anybody problems before. scratching the bottom of the barrel now!!

I have a white fence behind me where I hit balls and have no issues unless the sun is shining directly on my ST.

Unit returned from Sky Trak after it tested ok. Had the unit set up in my white walled studio so tacked a black sheet on the wall facing the unit and guess what, it now works every time.

Glad to hear. I had a similar problem with the white walls of my garage. I ended up hanging some black curtain material behind me. I also installed a single overhead recessed LED light so no shadows were hitting the SkyTrak unit.

My unit seems very picky about white background and/or any type of light or shadow hitting its cameras or where the ball lies.

Wow, that's good to hear! We have white walls in the office and never had issues. Could there have been something reflective that you covered up (metal hook, etc)? Grasping at straws but maybe a gloss paint? Can't think of how a white wall could cause problems, but glad you found a solution.

No nothing reflective and painted with valspar matt white emulsion. Working a treat now with black background and very pleased with my Skytrak experience. Having loading problems now with JNPG as it always crashes on start up. Awaiting reply from perfect parallel.

That's a bit disheartening that you have been waiting that long for a response but I am not that surprised. Maybe try the Tech Forum on the Perfect Parallels site?

Still no response from tech support, however I borrowed a friends laptop today and it opens JNPG every time and was able to run in simulation mode with my Skytrak. Obviously a compatibility problem with my own laptop. Its way over spec for the game requirements but may need to be replaced.

Finally got to the root of the problem. JNPG does not open when the projector is connected via the HDMI port. Going to try connection with VGA cable for the projector and hdmi cable for the TV. Fingers crossed.

So JNPG does not start at all or does it start and hang? If the VGA switch does not solve your problem I recommend going to the Tech forum on the Perfect Parallel site. There are a number of people there that might be able to help you resolve it.
