  • New or Used Skytrak

I am ready to take the SkyTrak Plunge and see I can save $300.00 by buying a refurbished one from the manufacturer. They insist there will be no issues, but an extended warranty with a refurbished unit is not available (it comes with 90 day only ). My question is - do these units break often where the extended warranty is needed?

It's been fairly rare, but the laser curtain that is used to trigger and read the shot has gone out on some and had to be fixed. Up to you if you believe in buying extended warranties and if you're ok with the price.

Without looking at what they're selling currently... I saved like $300 by buying one that was a demo model. It said it had only been used for like <500 shots. It's been great for >1 year. Obviously that's a different story than a refurb, but if they have any demos, I would jump on that deal again in a heartbeat rather than buy new.

I purchased a demo unit as well for $300 less. Have had for 2 yrs with no problems.

Grab a refurbished when they go on sale. I couldn't tell mine from a new one.
