  • JNPG Issues

I built my simulator with a used Skytrak last fall and just got back to it after a busy winter season. I just purchased JNPG and really like it. Was having l lot of problems with shots not registering. I now have the Skytrak with the leg screwed all the way in and set directly on the hitting surface as I was told to do by Skygolf. Putts are only reading a little more than half the time. I can also tell that the distance is short of my actual outdoor distance. I do understand simulators as I work for a company that ran three full swing simulators. I am not sure but I think that it may have something to do where the ball is placed in reference to the laser for loft readings.

How far is the red laser hitting the mat as measured from the front of the skytrak, not the case. It should be 11.5 to 12.5 inches. If not your height is off. I would probably put it on the concrete as your mat will move a bit when striking an iron shot. Finally clean the screen of the skytrak with microfiber cloth. Feel free to pm me if this does not help. I do not always check the forum but I will try to keep aware.

In case you do not have the manual, here it is. https://www.skygolf.com/skygolf/supp...015-12-15.ashx

I agree with taking the unit off the mat. I had mine in the mat and had a lot of misreads. You may not notice it but striking the mat causes some motion that interferes with the unit. The SkyTrak metal case is nice due to the adjustable legs.

I will give that a try. I have the case with adjustable legs. I had a platform set up to mach the mat height setting off of the mat and was having worse issues with misreads. Skygolf told me to place on the mat but will try it the other way.

For putts and chip shots try experimenting with ball placement in relation to the laser dot. To get good reads I used to have to put the ball closer to the skytrak and in front of the dot for chips/putts (about 1 inch in front of laser and 1 inch closer to the SkyTrak). After having some repair work done I now need to put the ball still 1 inch in front of the laser but now 1 inch further away from the skytrak.

I think every skytrak is different. For putting, the only way I can get consistent reads are to have it 1" inside dot and 6" behind. For Driver the same a putting, and as clubs get smaller I move more towards the dot, until about 1/2" behind for 58 degree. For chips I place the ball 1" inside and 3" behind. For Pitching, 1' inside, and centered on the dot.
Took awhile, but get almost none no-reads as long as I have my logo'd balls facing skytrak, and are relatively new.
