  • Need some skytrak information

Question about selling a skytrak, will sky golf let software you have say like JNPG be transferred to buyer when you sell.

  • #2
I don't think so, i believe only the skytrak subscription can be transferred. Best bet is to call to confirm.

I just sold mine a while ago. The subscription (GIP) can NOT be sold with it. Buyer must repurchase it.

I think if you give them your account info (steam), you can do it. I know a few people that have done it.

Thanks to all, I didn’t think the buyer could use anytime that may be left on a one year subscription for sims play. Reason for asking may sell skytrak to purchase a gc2. I like to play sims golf, but just can’t putt with skytrak. Skytrak would be great for sims play if putting could be fixed.

Not sure if it would help, didn't know SkyTrak wasn't good at putting. But look at an R-Motion add-on. It works with the SkyTrak and I'd say it's quite good at putting. Thats my SIM right now...but was looking to buy a SkyTrak used.

PM me if your interested in selling your ST. For the right price I might be interested. Good luck.

I agree putting with Skytrack doesn’t do it for me either. Looking at high def golf, full swing golf and GC Quad. Demoed each one. High def was the best. Full swing was ok. GC Quad not so much. Sales rep said the one I saw didn’t have the putting add on?? Of course my ranking mirrors the price ranking. Saying all that, I don’t think I’ll be putting on any of them. Just not real enough. Even the best one you are just guessing on seeing the distance. In other words you are playing the Simulator not playing Golf.

You may not find much improvement in that area by trading up to a different launch monitor. Putting will never be very realistic from a perfectly flat mat, while you attempt to visualize and compensate for the distance and terrain contours the simulation has generated - it's just very artificial, and is likely why you can typically just elect to have the software assume a holed putt if your putt would have gotten you "pretty close".

I play JNPG and putting is actually pretty good. I have no complaints overall. I suspect that GC2 will be similar in that respect.

yeah, putting is fine with my skytrak. Not sure why so many people have a problem with it. I play online with guys on GC2 all the time and they seem to struggle with putting just as much as I do.

Thanks again to all for good information. I know putting is not easy in sims play. Skytrak has trouble picking up slow speed shots was not designed for putting, so needs some tweeeks to make it better. I think my skytrak works great for the most part. When putting in e6 and 3D creative golf putts 15 ft and under putts go everywhere some times like 5 to 7 degrees left or right. The distion I putt to screen is 9 ft, putting strip Is 12 in wide. If ball runs off strip at 9 ft that is only off 3 degrees, can see not missing putts 5 to 7 degrees may just be my unit. Some skytrak way read putts better.

Honestly, I played WGT and felt the same way as I would have a 4 footer with 13degrees offline... Maybe JNPG somehow figured something out, and if I'm honest, I have brought my putting to the course so I am convinced it is quite solid. Consistency with pitching and chipping is where I have more frustration wtih Skytrak.

Both TGC and JNPG have added special code to improve Skytrak putting so they work pretty well. Sounds like the other software just uses the Skytrak output directly.
                  Working...
