I downloaded but didn’t get a chance to look at the wedge matrix - what’s it all about? Is it new or replaces something?

    awesome work guys as ever

The Wedge Matrix is part of Game Improvement. Like the other activities in there, it walks you through a setup process at the start where you choose your 4 wedges and how many swings you want to take at each swing length. Then you hit a series of shots with each wedge at various swing lengths (pitch, 1/2, 3/4, full). In the end, you are presented with a grid of how far you hit each club with each swing length...SUPER helpful out of the course with approach and short game. After getting this feature ready over the last few weeks, I shot in the 30's for my first time ever on the front 9 at a fairly tough local course last week.

        Hi Seth

I think it took a couple of tries for it to sync. For a while it did say 'Data Synced' but after restarting the app it kicked into 'Data Syncing' and it's all good now. The data was on SkyGolf 360 as well, so I wasn't too worried

Thanks for your quick replies. Great service - I hope you do it during working hours! It goes a long way in terms of service on an already great product.

Tried out the update wednesday night, got great numbers and found the wedge piece extremely helpful. Need to find out how to implement them on the course but still extremely helpful! My one concern that i havent seen anyone bring up so im wondering if i just overlooked it or if everybody just has 4 wedges. I have 4 wedges but currently going down to 3 (until i get another 56 degree didnt like my nike one so it is now resting in some woods hahaha) but needless to say is there any way we can change from 4 clubs to just 3. or what if we just want to do a matrix for only 2 clubs one day instead of all 4? I didnt see any way to begin the actual wedge matrix testing without having something as undefined and then going through that clubs X amount of shots. If there is an easy way to get around that that i didnt see please enlighten me, if not that would be a great feature addition to be able to allow us to not have to do all 4 wedges to get the readings and numbers for however many wedges that we want to use it with! SkyTrak_Seth Otherwise great update!!!!!!!!!

I had another request for that...I'll see what I can do in a follow up release to allow less than 4.

Pretty good update from a feature perspective.

The main ask is that you thicken the ball tracer lines as they're pretty tough to see now. Maybe an option to choose tracer thickness (and color)?

          Shot counter great
          Max height GREAT

Just slightly thicker lines as it's tough to see on a standard iPad.

I don’t like the new tracer at all as well. Were people asking for this new tracer?

Add me to the club. I'd love to have the old tracer back. I too am an iPad user.

          Wedge matrix - beautiful

I like the thin tracers but that's on a TV I can see why it would be difficult to see on an iPad.

They have also added some transparency to the line to indicate last shot which I like.

Also. I definitely think that the thinner line is much better than the thicker line previously used. Looks a lot better overall to the view and allows much better comparison to previous shots in a couple different ways. As I said before, it’s great that the app keeps improving over time with worthwhile features. It’s one of the reason I chose the Skytrak route a few weeks ago now.

I didn’t get to try the new 3.2 release until last night and I was very impressed with the wedge matrix. I also like the new tracer lines along with the height and counter. However, I ran into the dreaded multiple no reads, I tried closing the app and restarting. I verified that the ST was level. Nothing has changed from golfer, ball, club, or mat and I am only able to register about one in five shots. Actually, 20% might be generous! @SkyTrak_Seth Is there anything I can try to fix this? If not, how do I go back to 3.1 on an iPad?

I've been having similar no-reads since last release and after installing this one. Basically top light turns red and I have to exit whatever session I'm in and start again to get laser dot to come back. Only happens in ST app but not in the sims (so I think it really is something w the ST app itself?).

I had a better practice session today after figuring out where to place the ball. I used to always place the ball around 4:30 in relation to the laser dot. However, after the 3.2 release I got tons of no-reads. I moved the ball placement to around 2:30 and hardly had any no-reads. Go figure ....

Can you elaborate a little more on your 4:30 and statement? Have a hard time understand where you are placing the ball. THanks

Sorry if I am using the term incorrectly. 4:30 to me would be placing the ball about 2 inches toward me and about 2 inches to the right of the laser (right handed golfer). Now, at 2:30 I am placing the ball about 2 inches toward the ST and still about 2 inches to the right of the laser.

I've always taken great pains to try and have the ball sit exactly on the "dot". I'm I doing this incorrectly?

                • #42
I think it's a YMMV thing, depending on your mat, if the ST is in a case, logo on the ball, and if your ST is level. For example, I have read guys on here say they always aim the golf ball logo toward the ST. The only time I make sure the logo is aimed at the ST is when the ball is teed up for my driver.

                    A few things:

                    1) Thank you all for the helpful feedback!!

                    2) I hear you on the tracers, I will have them thickened up a bit for the next release.

                    3) The reason 64-bit will not work on some of your computers is because it is missing Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012. I will include that in the installer and have them update the website. But for now, you can download it here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=30679

                    4) Assuming the bottom of the unit is level with the hitting surface, the ball should go directly on the laser dot for 90% of users. High ball speed players can move it to the right a tad, shorter/pitch shots can move to the left a tad. But you should never change back and forth in distance away from the unit.

You're comment on "High ball speed players can move it to the right a tad". Will this help with measure accurate ball speeds above 150-160? I just was on a flightscope yesterday hitting balls consistently @ 165 ballspeed and I rarely ever get above 155 in skytrak. If I move it to the right, do you think the skytrak will measure a higher ballspeed? I know I am within the tolerance specified by you guys, but it does say + or - 5%.

I'd vote for letting users select tracer thickness, or at least a thin, medium, or thick version. My preference varies significantly depending on what type of monitor I'm using. Keep up the great work!!!

I just wanted to give a thumbs up for the new update. The previous update crashed every time on my older Samsung Tab Pro with this one it is usable again.

                    Thanks Seth and crew.

With the adjustable feet on a metal jacket, you end up with your best guess at being level with the hitting surface. Just how critical is this? What numbers would this throw off if you're not perfectly level?
