Sytrak on PC goes to no response state

I was wondering if anyone else is having this issue:

I have an HP Pavillion Laptop with Windows 10 Home edition, a 4GB NVIDIA graphics card and an I7 processor.

Most of the time everything runs fine with skytrak. I can hit balls for a couple of hours with no issues (other than the usually not picking up a shot every now and then.)

Sometimes though, I will hit the shot and the application just freezes. In some cases, if I let it sit for a couple of minutes, it finally catches up and finishes displaying the graphics. I have also had it draw the tracer and then pause for a minute or two.

This does not seem to be an issue with the Skytrak unit itself, it appears to be waiting on the application.

When this has happened I have brought up the task manager and the only think I see is the graphics card is running at 85%. I confirmed that the graphics are using the NVIDIA card and not just the built in graphics.

Again, this is an intermittent problem but when it happens, it does not matter if I shut down the application and restart it. It also does not matter if I reboot the computer.

Then, just as suddenly, everything will start working again.

Originally I thought it was the Anti-virus software but I disabled that and I am having the same issues.

    Any Ideas would be appreciated.

I've had this happen too. Not frequently, but sometimes. Everything just pauses and normally after a minute or two it continues - but sometimes it never starts again. Normally this happens after he shot tracer has been drawn but before the numerical data is displayed. If it happens once then it seems that it's more likely to happen again - it's like the software gets tired.

I put this down to an app bug - but I never found a solution.

I'm curious if you experience the same issue if you choose to run the app with the integrated graphics processor. Right-click on the app icon, and choose Run with Graphics Processor - Integrated Graphics.

I will give it a try next time. Again, it is intermittent and I can hit for an hour with no issues.

Seth, I tried your suggestion but had the same result. So it is not specifically the NVIDIA card and driver.

I finally think I figured out what was happening here. It turns out that while using skytrak software, disk defragmentation would start running (this is windows 10 Home Edition BTW.) I don't know why this was happening. If I restarted skytrak it would run for about 10 shots then happen again. I saw the defragmentor running on the task manager. It was scheduled to run once a week. I disabled it and the problem has stopped. I used Skytrak yesterday for 3 hours with no slowdowns.

Crazy....I recently upgraded from 8.1 to Win10 on my personal computer and am finding all kinds of frustrating issues like that. So far, not very impressed with the OS.
