Sudden increase in number of juiced shots

I don't have empirical evidence but my gut says I am noticing more "juiced" shots in recent weeks. The ball speed and carry are exaggerated.

One weird feeling is that the ball flight seems to speed up almost like its 1.5-2x speed like I have fast forwarded.

The second thing is I will get some crazy number, such as in this last tournament my 8I shot sped up and carried nearly 210 yards (50 yards over my average). I also notice this on the range where maybe 1 or 2 balls a session I just completely throw out as impractical physics.

    Anyone else seeing this?

I get 1-2 a round, sometimes more. I hate rewinding in a tournament out of fear that someone will protest, but they are pretty obvious. The key is to check backspin, if you hit an 8 iron and have <4000 spin, it’s going 200+ yards. Spin should be 7000+

Unless you are perfectly consistent, 4k backspin isn't tough to get with an 8 iron just by hitting it a little high on the face. Those ones might not be fake ones just fyi. All you have to do is hit slightly fat to make that happen. Can also happen just by scooping the ball rather than hitting down on it. Just my personal experiences that I am basing this off of.

Now if you get an 8 iron that shoots out at 150 mph, or 50 degree launch angle, or waaaay right or left even though you hit it dead straight then yeah, misread/juiced shot.

I just recently updated to the latest version of the app. I have since had a couple so far with driver that are suspect. They aren't out of the realm of what is possible for me, and they were on great swings with great contact so I don't know what to believe. All I know is that the ball speed, swing to swing for driver seems to be correct now. It used to pretty much always read lower than my voice caddie for instance, now it reads above it a couple mph or equal to it. So far, never lower. I need to do more testing but I like that it seems to read ball speed correctly for driver. I am a little concerned if it is going to spit out oddballs that aren't real from time to time. Easy to spot with an iron, not always easy with driver.

Something still feels off to me after the last couple of SkyTrak patches starting with 3.1.

I had a few shots yesterday that were hard to believe..

      8I with 130mph swing
My 3H carrying 250 with 150 mph.. if I hit it on the screws I'd expect 220-225 tops

I feel like I saw much more consistent ball flight characteristics prior to these round of patches.

Same here something does feel off lately. I am continually on the tournament posts explaining why I have taken so many rewinds, I am getting loads more juiced shots at the moment. Yesterday I had ball speed's over 200mph and I know if I really swing hard I am looking at max 160-165 maybe a tad more.

Are all you guys talking about 'juiced' shots in TGC or in the SkyTrak app?

I thought it was just in TGC at first but today I had some 350+ yard drives in the Skytrak app as well so it looks like it's hapenning in both.

I've seen it both in SkyTrak driving range and TGC.

I guess I would need to see some data (like a screenshot from the SkyTrak practice range).

This was with my gap wedge (50 deg loft)..normal carry about 120. It was not struck well but this is not possible. I hit this shot warming up about 10 mins ago.

I'm getting 1 or 2 of these per session lately.

Ive had a few recently too. I assumed it was just one of the balls I was using was wearing out but maybe not. Mainly it’s where I get really low spin and a ball diving right or left as a result. I’ll take screen shots next time it happens

                        Me too!
I'm also getting some insane backspin numbers on shots that feel to be struck well, like 12,000 + rpm 7 irons.

To me that looks like a misread. The most common misread happens with spin - so make sure your golf balls are fresh, white, and have a clear black mark/logo on them that you face towards the unit prior to hitting.

The 200mph ball speed is odd - could that be due to using a white headed driver (software tries to read the driver head as a ball) or possibly even a cracked ball?

I had some issues at last week's tgc tournament as well. I had a fat 3 wood that carried 240 yards followed by a clean 60 degree going 120 yard (should be 70) a about 12 yard chip went 80 yards and that's when I conceded the hole and restarted skytrak and tgc. After everything was back to normal. Another issue I seem to have is low spin numbers lately. A full wedge doesn't go above 8000 anymore, 8 iron 6500 Might be me somehow but seems weird. Couldn't hold a green with this kind of numbers even with wedges
