Back in the late Winter I started to develop tendinitis in both wrists and I wasn't sure if it was repetitive use, poor swing technique, or my Rukket mat. I am sure it was a mixture of all three. I decided to purchase a Fiberbuilt flight deck and cut out a rudimentary hole in a 4' x 8' sheet of sub-flooring to level things out with the ST. Things were going well as far as my tendinitis and I just needed to adjust the height of the ST to pick up the shots. Fast forward to within the past few weeks; I started noticing more and more 'no-reads'. I thought it was from lighting since the window in my garage that is directly adjacent to the ST faces West. I assumed as the sun was going down and the change in lighting was affecting the ST. I put up some blinds to block any sunlight from entering through the windows. However, I still would get several 'no-reads' and coincidentally the worst sessions seemed to be near the time of ST firmware upgrades. In an attempt to try something different I cut my Rukket mat in thirds and placed the thicker section into the hole where my Fiberbuilt was located. Once I had the old Rukket mat in place I hardly ever have any 'no-reads'. So, my question to you fine folks is have you experienced any woes with using the Fiberbuilt systems with your ST? I am worried about my tendinitis coming back since there isn't as much forgiveness as with the Fiberbuilt. However, I put an extra piece of carpet padding under the mat to raise it to be level with the ST, so hopefully it's at least better than when it was directly on concrete. I appreciate any thoughts or feedback you guys have.

Is it possible that your blinds block visible light, but some IR is getting through (i believe the skytrak cameras see Infrared, not visible light)? Try hitting at night and see if the results are any better...
Are there any other patterns to the no reads? Does it happen more with certain clubs or tee shots vs iron shot?
I have had a fiberbuilt hitting strip for about 1 month and have no issues with no-reads. Its working perfectly.
In the 3 years I have had skytrak, it works perfectly 99% of the time. But I will sometimes get a day or 2 like you, where it just doesnt read very well. Then it goes away, and starts reading everything again, with no changes on my part (except maybe cleaning the dust off the window).

Actually, now that you ask, I noticed the biggest discrepancy with 'no-reads' when I try to do a bag mapping. I just got a new set of F7 one length irons and have been trying to figure out my gapping. Starting with my GW going to Driver, when I get to about 7 iron or 6 it starts to 'no-read'. Sometimes if I quit the session and go back to the range it will start working again. I even got a pair of scissors out and tried to see if there were any fibers sticking out of place that I could trim. That didn't seem to help much. My thoughts regarding the lighting is why would it work in the same lighting with a different mat?

The only way I see that happening is if the different mats reflect IR light differently. Maybe the fiberbuilt is more shiny, so if a small amount of IR light is hitting it, the skytrak sees it more.
But I would guess that lighting is not the cause of this issue, since you have covered the window.
I would also try switching your connection method in Skytrak if possible. Just to rule that out. Some report that USB connection mode is less reliable than network mode.
