  • Distance issues "another thread"

So I wrote in another thread about my distances coming up way short since a few upgrades ago. Like I mentioned I did a gap fitting on a GC2 and my yardages were spot on to what I see on course. I've had my skytrak for about 2 years now so it's not an "indoor swing" issue. Just for fun tonight I tried to amp up the altitude and it did exactly nothing to my shots. I started low around 1000 and ended up ramping it up to 9000 and all shots came out just like when at 500. I even tried lowering humidity and changing the temperature to 90 and nothing. I plugged in the numbers to flightscope optimizer and put the altitude to 9000 and it added like 15 yards to my wedge shot.

Getting frustrated as I can barely get my 7 iron to get out to 145 and on the GC2 it's about 165 for me. Struggling to get 110 out of my PW which is 125-130 normal for me.

Would love some feedback from Seth on this.

    Thanks

As I said in your last post on the other thread, have you got your numbers from before and after the change to see what has happened.

Surely you can go into your Skygolf360 account and look at ball speeds, spin rates and launch angles (as these are the keys to distance) and see what the differences are.

If there are no changes then the algorithm must have been altered or if there are changes in those parameters then maybe it's something else causing the problem.

I'm assuming you haven't changed your mat and that SkyTrak software upgrades are the only difference?

I stay updated on SkyTrak software and personally my overall distances haven't changed much except that I get a few "juiced" shots per round more frequently where they seem too fast/far.

If you had ball speeds that were different when hitting on GC2 vs your Skytrak, that would be a good indicator you are either swinging differently when hitting on ST or maybe its the mat you use. Some of these mats are so grabby, that even a tiny fat strike really kills your club speed and contact. Just my two cents.

If you have similar ball speeds and launch data on both units, then I would expect at worse for ST to be short by 10 yards with most irons. That is in my experience, only for high spin players.
