  • Does a scuffed or worn out ball matter?

Just talking about the cover, not a ball that has split open. I use a cheap sheet that's held up well so not concerned with the balls ripping it.

Since skytrak tracks the very beginning of a ball flight, and the purpose of dimples is to help the ball while in the air, are numbers affected when using a scuffed or worn ball?

I can see a difference with really worn balls especially on wedges.

Spin starts to drop, launch angle increases. Once the cover starts to get chalky in texture, it seems to grab the clubface less.

Yeah, the more worn a ball is the more it slides up the face of my irons and becomes a low spin BOMB. They also launch much higher.

As far as ST reading it accurately, I find I just get a few more misreads than usual. I have hit some pretty bad balls and ST seems to see them just fine.
