  • Skytrak software update coming in a couple weeks.

According to their Twitter account we should expect the next software update in the coming weeks. They wouldn't spill the beans on what is in the update but that we will be very happy with it.

So maybe it'll include the calculated club head data that was in a earlier beta release?

Can't wait tho, hopefully it's chalk full of new goodies to play with.

Ok. Driver ok? Are your hybrids a dark or light color?

Regarding these recent increase of no-reads, I've also recently experienced a situation where ball was well-struck, no-read, but SkyTrak stays w all 3 green lights on but no laser dot coming back? So not even a dropped connection issue where iPad Pro tries to reconnect. Only solution was to close SkyTrak app, turn off SkyTrak unit and start over again.

SkyTrak_Seth , I've now noticed a lot of the increased no-reads since last few updates have resulted in the SkyTrak unit dropping connection w the iPad in network mode (i.e., I need to close app, turn off SkyTrak, turn SkyTrak back on and open app again to reconnect to SkyTrak). Has there been any changes in the WiFi connections via network mode in the last few updates that might have been causing these dropped network mode connections and hence the mis-reads or vice-versa misreads causing dropped network mode connections? Thanks.

Same here. ...suddenly not reading on consecutive strikes. Mostly, longer clubs, and to your point, possibly picked fairly clean. Never had this issue before, but now happens with regularity. Shortly irons occasionally, long irons 75% of the time. Turned my mat around and it made a difference for a few hits, but then back again to the non reads. A little frustrating.

Hey all, sorry it's been a crazy summer and I've been in and out for a few weeks. We've got a few of these requests in the next release (hoping for tomorrow). As far as the no reads, as others have pointed out, I'm leaning toward something related to hardware - 1) Because it's not across the board, and 2) Most of you guys are experienced enough users that it shouldn't be due to setup. As much as I hate to say it, it may be worth sending your unit in to at least have it looked at. We haven't changed anything with shot capture/image analysis or Wi-Fi/connectivity in a very long time.

EDIT - I will say, I recently upgraded my OS from 8.1 to Win10 and experienced a lot of disconnects. It turned out to be the network adapter driver.

Seth...always great to hear from you on issues. I've had mine for almost a year, and have upgraded versions when they post. Windows 7, use the wifi connect directly to Skytrak, and use the driving range exclusively. An occasional misread, but for the most part, solid and without issue. Suddenly, starting to get a lot of no reads on long irons and a few on the short irons. Turned on/turned off; changed position of the matt, added additional lighting overhead, and, insured I was using new balls. Still getting the no reads, but as a point of interest, I can move the club around the hitting zone (laser spot) and notice the unit recognizes the movement. Interesting! I do agree that this most likely is hardware as I've had no issue since updating the latest software some 2-3 months ago. It's only been a problem the past few days, so I'll try again tomorrow, and if the issue continues, will take your advice and send the unit for a 'check up'.

Update: Just go the unit back. Note says wi-fi connection repaired. It was progressively getting worse, reading shots only about 20% of the time, sometimes, 10-15 shots in a row didn't read at all. Just finished hitting around 50 balls with the repaired unit, every shot recorded. No non-reads. Additionally, shot track and info appear to display on monitor a tad faster than before. Great to be up and running again. Major Kudo's to Skytrak support.
        Working...
