Cold temperatures bad for skytrak?

Hi. Haven't really posted but picked up lots of info from here, thanks

I have my skytrak for about a year now ,no issues works great hitting off a fiber built mat (I also had joint trouble with cce mat, although I now have a much shallower swing because of it as it highlighted how steep I was 😀).

I was wondering if it's OK to leave skytrak unit out in my shed overnight. It gets to about minus 4 celsius here in Ireland this time of year (approx 25 Fahrenheit) . Would this temperature damage the battery over time?
I take it into house every night but would be much handier to leave setup in shed. Any folk experience any adverse effects in colder climates

I definitely wouldn’t leave it in freezing conditions.

The user guide says “Don’t expose your SkyTrak to extreme temperatures. Hot or cold conditions may affect performance.”

I use my Skytrak in an old double garage outside. I have a hitting cage, mat, projector, and PC all wired up to each other. It's a covered area with a metal door and a tiled roof and inside stone walls. There is no heating of any kind there and it gets pretty cold in there - certainly below 0C. I've had all my equipment in there for over a year and it all works fine.

I've left my pc in there and just throw a cover over it to stop the dust. No problem so far with cold temps.

I had a look inside and dust wasn't too bad .

I'd imagine the battery would deteriorate quicker in cold (or hot) temps .

Anyone ever had to replace a battery

The battery is rated at 14 degrees F, and we tested this awhile back on the forum. Honestly, I'd play it safe and keep it in a place that doesn't get below freezing in order to avoid damaging the battery.

SkyTrak_Seth speaking of the battery.... if using the skytrak in wifi mode, how long can you expect the battery to last from fully charged? will it last 1 hour, 5 hours etc?

I would expect 4-5 hours.

Battery life clearly depends on a number of factors, including but not limited to age. The instruction manual if I recall specifies up to 5hrs.

When cold overnight my skytrak will fail to create the WiFi hotspot. Middle red light just blinks. Leave it 10mins, off and on, WiFi kicks up no problems.

Must be the chip warming up 😀
