    Ball shape names

    Hi,

What would you describe the name of the shape of these shots in each picture please?

My standard shot that I need to fix is that in photo 1!

    Cheers

Assuming you are right handed then they look like pull draws. Again, assuming a centred strike then you are looking at an out-to-in club path with a closed club face to that path

Pull draw for shot 1 path out to in (or straight path) and face closed to path,
Draw for shot 2 path in to out with face closed to path.
Pull for shot 3 path out to in with face square to path. You have no side spin on this shot.

The "new" ball flight laws are based on the "fact" that the ball's flight pattern is primarily dependent on the clubface orientation at impact, and that approximately 85% of the ball's initial flight direction is determined by the clubface orientation while only 15% of the initial flight direction is dependent on the clubhead path at impact.

Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. IMHO... truly understanding ball flight laws and knowing what clubface & path conditions create them is the # 1 most important thing a golfer who wants to improve had better put the time in to understand. There are a bunch of different versions of the attached "Ball Flight Laws" diagram all over the internet but this one is as good as any of the ones I have come across. Clear and concise. Let me (us) know if you have any questions.

One other thing.... and I am not a teaching pro BUT.... I'll give you my 2 cents on your normal miss if you would like it but need to know if you are a righty or a lefty?

Okay. So again I am not a pro... but if you want to play the game.... want to try and guess the most likely path and club face angle for EACH of the 3 pics you posted?

They are all a little different, but it'd be my guess that you have a slight pull/draw bias.
