Android App on Chromebook?

Has anyone been able to get the ST Android app to work on a Chromebook? I tried it a while back and the app loads to no surprise but it wouldn't connect to the ST unit. Considering how inexpensive a decent Chromebook can be had for it would be great if we could get it to work.

i use the app perfectly on my samsung tab s... surely it would be mostly the same system? android based...

I've used the app on my Android phone exclusively and cast it to a large tv on the wall since I picked up my ST last year. Unfortunately, the only time I tried to use the app on my Chromebook it wouldn't connect. Although the Chrome devices recently made Android apps available my impression is that some wrinkles need to be ironed out on the platform or app dev side or both for many apps to function properly

You would think right? I just got a Samsung Chromebook 3... app loads ok.. slowly, but it loads, I can log in... but the my SkyTrak never connects in network mode... just keeps saying "Discovering". USB mode obviously won't work, since you can't install drivers... and no luck getting it to connect to my Chromebook in direct WiFi mode either... such a bummer.

You would think that Chrome OS on a Chromebook, Android Phone, and Android tablet would all be kind of the same, but they obviously are not. Since I'm new to a Chromebook, I also just tried to install the YouTube TV app on my Chromebook... downloaded and installed fine, but once I open it I get a nice message that says "The YouTube TV App is not supported on Chromebook... " and provides me the web address to log in via browser...

Bummer.. was really hoping to use my Chromebook with my SkyTrak as the Chromebook is much more portable, and I don't like dragging the laptop out in the garage.

Works great on my Galaxy S9+ though... so I just keep using that instead for quick sessions... and drag my laptop out when I want to project onto my hitting screen.

thats actually dissapponting to hear... i was contemplating buying chromebook to take on flights, load movies etc and to use with the ST system

The reason it won't work on Chromebook is because we don't have a Chrome OS SDK from our hardware manufacturer (same with OSX). I don't see any plans to do this in the very near future, but that may change depending on the market adoption rate/success of Chrome OS.
