I've read several threads mentioning this file, but can't find the name or location of the file. Thanks in advance.

Looking for the config file to adjust distances

On TGC, I’ve got a desktop shortcut called SkyTrak TGC Settings that opens a config file in notepad. You just edit the values and save the file.
If you don’t have the desktop shortcut, I believe you can re-run the initial TGC install file and select to add the shortcut to the settings. If you don’t want to do that then you can probably go straight to the file and edit/save it. On my pc, it is located here: c:\programdata\protee united\tgc simulator\tgcsim_data\server\server_data\config.tx t
For the SkyTrak app, there is no config file to change. You can edit the environmental settings (altitude, wind, temp, etc.) only.

Great idea, I'm going to try that.Originally posted by trhuke View PostIn ST goose the heck out of altitude and temperature and it will give you more yardage.
I've only had my ST for a couple of days, but I can already see the distance is short of what I really hit the ball on a golf course. About 20 yards short with the ST. I hit an 8 iron constantly 145 on the course, ST says 120 to 125 on every shot.Last edited by Cozman; 03-08-2019, 04:00 AM.

8 iron travelling 125 isn't exactly the high ball speed that has been discussed. You will figure it out. I just set my skytrak to my local altitude and everything is spot on. Except for driver.

Yes and no. There are factors indoors that you do not get outdoors. Indoor swing, the mat has a major impact these just a few of them. Bit more than these especially for me there is also spin decay that you get IR that the current ST algorithm does not take into account. My iron shots have very high back spin IR I get more distance because as the ball moves the spin does not stay at 6000rpm it diminishes on the ST it stays at 6000rpm through the whole shot so as far as the computer is concerned as long as the ball has high back spin it is slowing down in the air and you get less distance. My understanding is this is something that is being worked on for an upcoming update.
I see many say boost the altitude etc but for many that is not an option. I hit my driver just about dead on IR and on ST because I get low back spin so if I boost the settings my driver will go farther than in IR so once again an issue.

That makes sense Nasdaqsam, thank you. I've only had the ST for a few days, so I'm still learning my way with it. But other than my issue with the distance, sure do like what I'm seeing so far. A few yards of distance on the ST really isn't a big deal since I have all my clubs mapped out on course and know my true distances. My big reason for purchasing the ST was for direction and dispersion tracking to work on tightening it up.Last edited by Cozman; 03-08-2019, 03:40 PM.

Thanks Wizard ! :-)
Its the first one I've ever owned. I have no regrets buying the ST at all. It's only going to help improve my game the more I use it.
Also, it's really great to have all you guys here to be able to ask questions and get advise from experienced users.
Thanks guys !
